Either way its fair criticism because he didn't land a transfer his first year.

Who said he needed to besides you? Maybe he actually had a long term view on how he wanted to build this program. Do people really think DP and BE were flying blind early on?

He went 16-17 in year three! 47-52 overall. His plan isn't working.

One could argue the success DP achieved at Bucknell was due to Pat Flanery paving the way.

Flannery had many accomplishments. In the 2006 regular season, for example, the Bison went undefeated in Patriot league play. Even more impressively, Flannery led his team, a 14-seed, to an epic first round victory in the 2005 NCAA tournament over basketball powerhouse, Kansas. This was objectively one of the biggest upsets in NCAA tournament history. Bucknell's victory was the first NCAA tournament win ever for any Patriot league team. In the 2006 NCAA tournament, Flanery beat Arkansas in the first-round for their second consecutive first round victory. After the 2007-2008 basketball season, Flannery retired after fourteen years as the Bison's men's basketball head coach.

DP takes over and goes 21- 40 in his first two years. Sure, he eventually found some success in a crappy conference, but that's due to Flanery paving the way. Flanery is the reason Bucknell is able to compete at the top of the conference.

Bucknell capitalized on their early success and is able to stay at the top of their conference. Bucknell has made 3 straight post-season appearances. (1 NIT and 2 NCAA) once DP left.

So if a predecessor is successful, all success of future coaches credit goes to them. But if a predecessor leaves the program as a heaping dumpster fire, you can just get some transfers in year one and turn the whole thing around? Got it.

Yeah, I don’t think you can credit the current success of Bucknell to a guy who left 10 years ago. Flannery also retired after going 12-19 in 2008 so it’s not like Paulsen squandered a dominant team (like say a certain other coach we don’t have to name).

In fact, from the records, it looks like Flannery has 3 good seasons in his 14 years, so let’s not over egg the pudding there.

I know the chances of landing him are slim but do you think when Brendan Adams asked for his release from URI yesterday we called to check in with him? We were in his "top five" list prior to his URI commitment, I'm sure new schools are now going to be calling, possibly even Pitt and UCONN.

I try not to respond to you but this is such an inane post.

You really have no idea what you are talking about.

Hopefully the players will show Burton a good time while he's there. If it's anything like the party they had when Miller was visiting I like our chances.

One could argue the success of your trolling was due to previous trolls dating back to the CAAZone paving the way for you.

DJ3 - great troll, or greatest troll ever?
Judging from the current success at his post, and his many quality predecessors who left him awesome material to work from, DJ3 is the "GREATEST TROLL EVER!"

All kidding aside, DJ3, you really do supply me a great deal of priceless entertainment. What else would we be able to talk about during the off-season without your commentary to inspire us. Keep up the good work!
