Oooof! He's slipping! Is it too late to rescind his offer and get someone who's a little taller!Jason Douglas-Stanley update:
Game 6 - win over Jasper Place 106-57 (in Canada) - JD-S had 27.
Mt. Vernon played yesterday too. Douglas-Stanley continues to score at will - pretty remarkable what he’s doing.
Game 9 - win 88-60 over Spring Valley - Douglas-Stanley with 36 points.
Then there's a good possibility something about D-S's game requires a priority fix. I point to Calixte, who looks pretty good as a Freshman learning to contribute in the paint, but by the looks of his free-throw prowess, I'm sure that's a big part of his level of offers (or lack of higher-end offers). I'm hoping that, like GoMar, that it's a matter of Mason getting to D-S first and forming a strong relationship with him. Those are the players Coach Dave and we fans want.I can’t believe he didn’t have an offer better than the CAA.
I'm sure p5s would be at his games now if he wasn't committed yetWhat’s remarkable to me is our staff wasn’t even recruiting him, went to watch Calixte, said “Hey this No. 20 is pretty good,” started following him and sealed the deal in the early period.
I know he’s only 6-2 and that’s “too short” for a SG in the P5 leagues, but he plays for a very well-known program against credible competition and he can flat out shoot it from deep. I can’t believe he didn’t have an offer better than the CAA.

And that's the sign of excellent recruiting!I just think P5 schools see Jason as a classic tweener, a SG trapped in a PG’s body.
Same as Ryan Pearson, he had a monster senior year at CTK and P5 schools started paying attention, but by that point he was signed and wasn’t gonna break his commitment.

Beats the heck out of me—my statement above was rhetorical.Wouldn't part of that be the fact that he's a 6'2 shooting guard?
According to Rivals, he did have offers from New Mexico, ODU, and St. Bonaventure, which are all pretty comparable programs to us.
