Excellent write up - that's really the only preseason article you need to read.
excellent article?!?!?! seemed to be spot on for about 5 teams other than that was just a guess... the only thing the author got consistently correct is how much GW is going to suck this year and maybe the all-A10 preseason picks

Jack Tempchin really going to be 5th player off the bench for us?!

Jared Bynum won't be 4th man off the bench for St Joes

Deriante Jenkins cannot legitimately dribble but he is going to be PG for vcu this year (they have 4 on roster including injured Evans but they are going to have Jenkins run point?)

If Turner-Morris does better than Hayward for UMASS then I know nothing about basketball

Leonard (Craig) Randall might end up being Duquesne best player (after Williams and Lewis) but he is their 4th player off the bench?!

Can nobody address why Duquesne has 15 scholarship athletes? (over the limit)

4 star recruit for St Bonnies is going to be 7th man instead of start over a horrible center they have returning?! (probably not)

JJ who has started last two years for Richmond is now off the bench for a low rated freshman?

Noah Yates (good senior transfer for Richmond) is their 14th man this year?

Onyi Eyisi the 4 star that is going to Fordham isn't better than the 9 guys in front of him who all suck?

Sorry this was long winded but the person who wrote this had neat advanced metrics but overall his conclusions mostly sucked and are inaccurate.

He studied St. Louis, Davidson, GW, Dayton and a couple others.. otherwise he was severely mistaken with both his lineups and analysis

Blue Ribbon and Street & Smith’s both picked us to finish 2nd to SLU.

Lots of optimism surrounding our program. It will be interesting to see how the guys handle being the hunted instead of the hunter for the first time in many years.

Hint: it's not the guy both Paulsen and Cabrera have visited with while he used EBA as a practice site during ACC conf tourney and in Miami.

"For whatever reason it was a rebuild when I took over after coming off two really bad years in the A-10.’’

I wonder if we'll ever figure out what that reason was.... :sidedead:

Very diplomatic of him...although not very subtle.

I like where this team is going. I feel like we have more balanced classes than URI or SLU or Dayton had during this little runs of prominence, so if we can keep Paulsen around I like our chances of having a sustainable program.

"He said he used the money he’s getting from that game to turn around and buy Penn and Vermont for home games — two teams that should compete for league titles in the Ivy and America East" Surprised we have to pay to play them....

We are paying them so that we don't have to return the game, thereby increasing the number of home games we have. Pretty good strategy.

With the P5s putting a stranglehold on NCAA bids, we have to be able to buy low- and mid-majors that will compete at the top of their leagues and end the season with good computer numbers.

We’re never gonna be able to consistently build an NCAA-worthy resume otherwise.

Do we no longer have a home court disadvantage? Buying games is smart when you are hard to beat at home. For those two games we will have around 3500 in the stands. Not exactly an intimidating environment.
