Man, I cannot wait to see Jarred and Greg alternating at the 5 this year. They are going to just wear guys down every night. And with Jarred's passing ability, there will be a lot of wide-open looks from deep. It's gonna be fun.
I sure hope Grayer will be healthy to knock down the three.

No offense Chank, but if a kid is influenced by something that stupid and irrelevant, he’s not gonna fit with Dave anyhow.
The problem is that this isn’t just a recruit’s first look at our gameday atmosphere, it’s many of the students as well. A boring mason madness may turn some of them off from attending the actual games.

And, if we can’t get midnight madness right, it doesn’t speak highly of the people in charge. It shouldn’t be that hard to be entertaining. If I’m a recruit, I would be affected by seeing those types of events - especially if I see one at another school that does a much better job. Recruiting is a competition, who knows what little details will separate one school from another.

Midnight madness was def not boring this year. The crowd was great and the band was amazing. There was good energy up until the hour mark. The arena with the lights looked amazing also. We had a great opening hype video for the men's and women's highlights last season.

Only 2 down sides, too long and that damn YMCA performance.

Good to hear that you had a good time. I just heard other people saying that it was really bad. Admittedly, I have not attended in a few years.

Just moved back to the area, excited to go to games this year so we took our little guy. He kept asking when they were going to play basketball. If a toddler is itching for some hoops you know it’s bad.

Mason madness was never great, but this had to have been one of the worst I’ve witnessed and didn’t really inspire me, as an alumni or fan, to want to come to another one. Didn’t stay for the end of the 3pt contest because they took so long to get to it. What happened to the scrimmage and drills they used to do with the men and women? Overall, it was long and underwhelming. D+

Also, we thought we showed up on the wrong day. Parking lot was empty at 7:30, no tailgate or anything outside EBA and only one entrance was open with no signs for where to go. Had I not been a mason fan, knowing how our events often underachieve, I would have thought it was closed and gone home.

On the bright side. The video board was tight, first time seeing it in person, and the light effects were good. Oh and the band rocked, per usual.

I'll give people the YMCA guy, but if anyone is calling this "one of the worst" you've not been around that long. I can remember many years with several minutes of "dead air" and some really corny games and performances. Some of the content this year was out of touch, but at least there was a flow to it. Throwing out 3 year old t-shirts is probably something we need to work on though.

Thanks old guy, we are all really interested in the Madness events history pre 2006

Mason should make their homecoming the first home game of the season! The weather is warmer for tailgating. And it starts the season with a lot of energy.

Anyone have an idea if Jordan Miller is going to redshirt? I know that was an idea thrown around, and I wanted to see if anyone had an idea if that was happening.

Uhh...you forgot the NCAA is starting the season earlier this year. The season starts on a Tuesday, and it is at home (doubleheader to be exact).
