In not putting him on trial. I'm so excited he is playing for Mason. I was selfishly disappointed he red shirted last year because I wanted to see him play.

I'm also super excited for the potential for Frederick. Someone made a stupid comment and said based of his Twitter I hope he doesn't come to Mason.

I tried to make a point to say similar to Fredrick, AJ posts a lot to Twitter. It appears to me both Aj and Frederick have a desire to prove doubters wrong, and I love people who have that mentality. They put in the extra hours to improve themselves.

All that said, I don't think we should judge a recruit based off their Twitter page.

Frederick isn't coming to Mason, so his "potential" to help our program is zero.

I'm with gmujim in saying he isn't coming to Mason. He was scheduled for a visit this weekend and didn't come. Whether we pulled the offer after signing Calixte I'm not sure. We could still use another Big man but I'd think Paulsen would go for a GT so he has at least 2 scholarships for the 2018 class to offer.
I've been checking out Frederick's twitter for a couple weeks now, I'd agree with others it's not the most mature student athletes feed I've read. As stupid as it sounds I wanted Frederick to come to Mason and after reading his Twitter feed I was a little less enthusiastic about it. That was just my opinion coming from someone who is about twice these kids age. I have full trust in Paulsen and staff in brining in the student athletes they see fit to wear the green and gold.

I don't want to judge anyone, but from an outsider Frederick just doesn't seem like he would quite fit with our current team. As I mentioned before, the issues with prior coaches is a red flag. Maybe I'm old and out of touch (and I have nothing against meaningful tattoos), but a rolling stones tongue and lip tattoo right above the "Mason" on the front of the jersey isn't really a look I'm going for (see http://www.sinclairclarion.com/home/wp-content/uploads/2016/12/PlayerProfile.jpg ). He might be a great kid... and I hope he has a great career.

Me personally, I just prefer the type of image that Goanar Mar, Javon Greene, and Greg Calixte have portrayed through social media and I'm excited for those guys to represent Mason.

Current situation: NLI signing period ends in four weeks (May 17). Mason has two open scholarships (correct?) There is lots of time for stuff to happen. Who remains at this point for Mason to bag? I don't think Coach P is the type to hold scholarships for the future.

I've been a little surprised to see how few, if any, grad transfers we've been linked to. I would think a grad transfer would be a good option for us to keep a scholarship free for the 2018 class. Maybe we just don't know any of the names, maybe Coach isn't a fan of a one year player... no idea.

Also getting interest from Sparty. (Hopefully not too much interest).

Another very strong young man. He and Boyd in the same lineup would be a handful.

My guess is; they were holding out to see what Frederick was going to do. The fact they offered someone else, makes me think they know Frederick has committed elsewhere.

My guess is either Mason told Frederick his ship had sailed here or he realized it on his own after we signed Calixte. I don't think Dave ever intended to pick up both guys and Calixte pulled the trigger on the offer. Pickford looks like an interesting target. Hope we didn't get in the game too late for him.

Bigger challenge is going to be convincing a SG with legit offers to come here and compete with Grayer, Boyd, Newman and Kier.
