So how is Frederick's defense? If he commits, we also need him to play good D if he wants more minutes.

Love Calixte's size, he can be a formidable force down the post on the defensive end along with Relvao. I don't mind having a couple of defensive minded bigs that are still developing their offensive game, we got plenty of scoring guards.

There are a lot of positives to Frederick - I like kids that hit a big growth spurt late because I feel like they develop good ball handling and passing skills when they were smaller and I don't think that necessarily goes away after the growth spurt.

I'm not sure how good the competition is he's playing against. Would love to see what other DI bigs he's gone against and how he's done.

I don't think we could expect any numbers similar to Jalen from Frederick, but he could possibly be an upgrade from our two current big guys.

In one of the stories I read, Frederick's mom said something to the effect that he didn't respond well to coaches who yelled a lot.

If that is still the case, he's not going to fare well at Mason or pretty much any other school.

Yeah, it seems like that was an issue in both high school and his first juco school where he didn't stick it out long enough to play in their first game.
