Looking at Otis's twitter page. Do you think we would add his brother if a scholarship became open. He is a 6'3, and 2017 class. I wouldn't think so but didn't know if anyone knew.

Lykes looked for a college coach who embraced those doubts, who saw the race-car-type point guard as his team’s leader. He found Jim Larranaga at Miami, a coach who more than once was handed doubts and turned in results. His 2006 George Mason team, after all, defeated a host of basketball blue bloods on the way to a Final Four appearance.

Against North Carolina, he told the Patriots they were “kryptonite” to the Tar Heels’ Superman. At Miami six years later, he turned 5-foot-11 point guard Shane Larkin into a first-round NBA draft pick.

“He saw a coach that trusted guys like him and wanted guys like him,” Turner said of his point guard.

That’s what made Turner decide to recruit Lykes to Gonzaga in the first place, he said.

AUGUSTA — On the heels of a comeback victory over LaGrange in the Class AAAA Elite Eight earlier in the week, the Henry County Warhawks seemed poised to pull another rabbit out of the hat in Saturday’s Final Four matchup against Upson-Lee at Augusta University.

The Warhawks trailed by as many as nine points in the third quarter, but fought back to get to within four points at 48-44 with 27 seconds left in the quarter. However, Upson-Lee outscored Henry County 26-15 over the remainder of the contest to claim a 74-59 victory and advance to the state championship game against St. Pius.

Upson-Lee, who entered the game with a perfect 30-0 record, wasted no time jumping out to an early lead. Sophomore Travon Walker set the tone in the opening period with seven points and four rebounds. His physical play helped the Knights race out to a 17-9 advantage.

Henry County punched back in the second quarter, cutting the lead to 20-15 early in the period after a steal and dunk by Javon Greene. Upson-Lee rattled off the next four points and maintained an eight-point advantage with three minutes to go in the half.

This confirms what we have been hoping. We will have at least 1 transfer from this team. thank god! We need a 6'8" big man who can score and rebound. Go get him Coach!

Very interesting about Calixte. He is one of the finalist for Mr. Basketball NY. Looks like he's been taking visits and getting offers since early last year. I wonder what he is holding out for, perhaps for a school that has a history with his HS!

Hopefully I will get to see Calixte play this weekend. Mt. Vernon plays in the NY State Championships in the community I live in this weekend. Won't be able to make the semis - hoping Mt. Vernon makes the finals.

Does NY State still do the game where they take the state champion and play the private school winner? Was it the Federation Title??

I honestly don't know if the public and private champs still play. I guess the public school championships will be in Binghamton for the next three years. I wonder if there is any chance of somebody from the GMU staff coming up to watch Mt. Vernon play?

Thanks - our plow guy needed 3 or 4 trips to our driveway to keep up with the snow. After making nothing last year they're really raking it in this year. Biggest storm I can remember. Binghamton City schools were closed for a third straight day today. I imagine Fairfax schools would be shut down for a couple weeks if they were hit with almost 3 feet of snow.
