With the vcu commits,

Let the vcu fans get riled up and have their circle-jerk about it on lambnation. As long as Coach DP gets things going, we should have confidence to beat vcu regardless of whatever BCS castoffs they have signed!

GIVING DAY 2023
Before we start worrying about beating vcu, we need to take care of Fordham at least once.

We now return to the 2016 Recruiting thread, already in progress.

While Painter already has made three unofficial visits to Penn State — including one for April’s Blue-White Game — on Tuesday he was in Fairfax, Va., touring the George Mason campus and meeting with a Patriots staff now fronted by Dave Paulsen.
Paulsen and assistant coaches Dane Fischer and Aaron Kelly — a trio Painter already was familiar with —relocated to suburban Washington earlier this spring from Lewisburg after a successful stretch at Bucknell.

3-star St. Johns G Jeff Dowtin is turning heads with his play at the Under Armour camp. I think he was DP's first offer at Mason and he'd be a steal if the staff can land him.

6-3, about 165 pounds, can play either guard spot. His game reminds me a lot of Lamar's. Very, very good shooter.

But what I really like is his attitude:

So far, Dowtin has scored scholarship offers from Florida Gulf Coast, Holy Cross, George Mason, St. Joseph's, Rice, Drexel, Hofstra, Rhode Island and Towson. Others interested include DePaul, UCF,Georgetown, Maryland and Providence.

If some of the interest from high-major programs turns into offers, Dowtin will find himself at an interesting crossroad. He has some strong mid-majors who have wanted him for quite some time.

"It's not just about getting the biggest offer," said Dowtin. "You have to go to a school where you can play. These days you could go to a mid-major and still turn into a star player."

Another of our most coveted 2016 prospects, PG Christian Vital had 35 points in his first 2 games at the Nike Peach Jam.

Vital is a super-athletic 6-2 out of St. Thomas More in CT (B. Allen played there).

He's already visited us and GW, and most recently took an unofficial to URI. Should be interesting to see if he winds up somewhere in the A-10.

Bottom line: We are in with some very good kids in the '16 class, which is a good thing because we're gonna need them to play and contribute right away after losing Shevon, Pat, Marko and Royal.

He should have a pretty awesome vertical leap and hang time at that weight.

Looks like Otis and him were conference foes back in NJ...

Senior guard Joshua Carter(right) scored 19 points and Senior guard Otis Livingston had 18 points to lead Linden past The Patrick School 65-54! Linden held the lead for the entire game and even though the game was within reach for the Patrick School, Linden’s methodical offense consistently made plays in their sets! Late in the game when the Patrick School would press, Linden would consistently beat the press with long passes by Senior Juwan Dolbrice! Junior Cyril Langevine led the Patrick School with 16 points and Sophomore Jamir Harris added 15 points for the Patrick School! Linden will meet Roselle Catholic 7:30pm at Kean University!
