It looks like he had predicted vcu until just recently, but I know nothing about his recruitment, so I assume that was based on a hole that was filled by another player at vcu.

It even says 100% next to George Mason. I know nothing myself, but things look good. It's nice to see GMU in the mix for a guy vcu was looking at too.

The likelihood of Wilson going to a JUCO college increases each day. Generally players just have a good feeling about a program and make a commitment. My assumption is, Wilson doesn't have "that feeling" and will eventually enroll into a JUCO program.

I'm not gonna get into the details because it's not my place and I learned my lesson on that, but suffice to say you're misreading the situation.

You don't have to sign a NLI to receive a scholarship.

You just have to make it through the admissions process and be accepted into the school, sign your scholarship papers, then show up for the first day of classes.

I'm sure if he is going to be playing for us next season, the coaches are going to want AJ enrolled for summer school to get a jump on his books.

But theoretically he has until August for this situation to be resolved.

It's the deadline by which players and schools can lock themselves into the official NLI contract.

An increasing number of elite-level MBB recruits are opting not to sign because then they have maximum leverage and flexibility in case something unforeseen -- NCAA investigation, coach leaves, etc. -- happens over the summer. They can transfer without having to get a release from their current school.

But if you're anywhere below the elite level as a player, you're better off signing the NLI because then you assure yourself of having a scholarship.

The alternative is that you decide not to sign and all of your top schools fill their 13 scholarship slots with other people.
