I was thinking about this as well. At this point I feel like its got to be eligibility reasons right? Like grades or something. It seems like he likes Mason. He recently retweeted the final 4 anniversary posts. I really want to see this kid in Green and Gold.
Between the university's admissions office and the NCAA clearinghouse, there are a lot of hoops to jump through to get athletes into school and eligible for competition.
As we've learned recently, this process can take longer to play out than we would like.
But we are starting from a better place with this one because we are 100 percent certain that the recruit's name is indeed AJ Wilson, he's an American citizen and his academic record belongs to him.
Hopefully this doesn't turn into another Mayimba fiasco where everything is up in the air indefinitely and nobody seems to know what's going on.
Just reading tea leaves, the fact that AJ hasn't committed somewhere else or announced he's prepping next year says to me that he is waiting for a verdict from Mason/NCAA before making his next move.
Likewise, the fact that the staff hasn't filled the last scholarship suggests that it is AJ's unless something comes down that prevents him from accepting it.
I could be totally wrong on this. I've got no inside info. Just guessing along with everyone else.
Still hoping AJ winds up at Mason. You can never have too many 6-7 freak athletes in my book.
