This is the recruiting game, kids understand the process. Talk to an assistant coach about this you'll have a better understanding what an actual offer means.

Hard to imagine a guy like DP getting all the way to the point of making a kid an offer, to then telling him to sign elsewhere. Perhaps he told Bruno he would have to redshirt, which a recruit can disagree with and commit elswhere. That I can understand, but telling a kid we are taking your offer back, is insane.

The point is that the "offer" is conditional, coaches tell kids they are someone they would like to have, but that it is not a committable offer until X happens (usually someone else who is a higher priority makes their decision).

Sounds like Troy was the priority between the two forwards, with Troy's offer being conditional on getting qualifying grades/scores, and Bruno's offer being conditional on Troy's eligibility. Troy appears to be more college ready, which I think is important for next season.

I'm looking forward to seeing what he and Relvao can do.

Bit of inside info:

I was the third offer in the mix here if both of these guys didn't work out. Overall, it was a good experience-- aside from the fact that I think I heard Paulson mention to one of the assistants that the "skinny-fat old guy with a complete lack of athletic ability or understanding of the game of basketball needs to leave the gym before I call security".

Not his fault they haven't put out Mason-Adidas gear. According to the book store though, adidas stuff should hit the shelves this summer

I'm not faulting him. I'm sure he just wore what was available. Won't matter for me either way, because I'm not a fan of Adidas. All of my Mason t-shirts are Nike Dri-Fit.

We offered him very late.

He's visiting Richmond this weekend. Already took an official to Hofstra.

Unless he schedules a visit to Mason, I'm assuming we're not really in the game.
