When do official team practices start? Curious if there will be another open practice this year like last year.

Prairie View A&M is the last non-conference game on Dec. 22. Gotta think this is another one of those "kids days" like last year vs Wagner.

vcu during school vacation.... A10 pissed we beat their golden child last year or what?

Maybe I'm just feeling optimistic, but if we had to have a home conference game on Dec. 30, I'd rather it be vcu.

Even with students out, they're enough of a draw (and enough Mason people loathe them) that local students/fans/alumni will come out in numbers.

We still have about 25,000 students who don't live on campus and thus many will still be "in town" during the break.

No excuse to not have a big, loud crowd.

Pretty cool that we have 16 home games. That has to be the most we've had in some time if ever. Too lazy to check, though.

but that makes two rivals at home when there aren't any students as we are playing JMU over Thanksgiving break. maybe I'm pessimistic, but I'd prefer both of those games when class is in session.

Also, we got no favors with 3 of 4 to end the season on the road with @Dayton, @GW and @vcu.

As far as TV, should I assume our MASN games are the ASN produced games?

I wonder if MASN will produce their own games adding to our TV lineup. And don't we play PSU on BTN?

call me a pessimist but these aren't the students who heavily attend games

I know that has been the situation historically, but I refuse to believe we can't have much better student attendance with an effective outreach campaign and continued progress on the court.

It's not like we're one of those schools where 90 percent of the students live on campus and scatter during vacation.

Frankly, there is no reason a school our size should average total attendance less than 8,000 per game. Our fans just need to suck less and get to the arena more.

I don't disagree with you in the least, I'm just not holding out hope for a massive turnout against vcu. I just think the demographics of kids who commute probably doesn't greatly overlap with the enthusiastic college basketball fan demographic.

That being said I'll be there ready to fight some art school twats if anyone else wants to get a bit rowdy with me.

Without glasses tinted too green and gold, I can pretty easily rationalize 10 or 11 home wins and 15-17 overall wins with this schedule. I'm sure there will be an upset either way here or there, but an overall +.500 record seems very possible.
