GIVING DAY 2023
I wonder if MASN will produce their own games adding to our TV lineup. And don't we play PSU on BTN?
Last season MASN picked up most of the ASN games (CSN had the game at GW, IIRC), and produced 3-4 games themselves. I expect they might produce and televise the Towson, JMU, and Richmond home games, and maybe 1 other. MASN will also sometimes pick up road games if they are already being televised (e.g. if UNI has our game on local TV in Iowa, MASN might buy the feed).

Our game at GW might well be on CSN-MA since I believe GW has a deal with Comcast.

Yes, the PSU game is on the BTN. The A10 release only includes networks that have a partnership with the A10.

I don't disagree with you in the least, I'm just not holding out hope for a massive turnout against vcu. I just think the demographics of kids who commute probably doesn't greatly overlap with the enthusiastic college basketball fan demographic.

That being said I'll be there ready to fight some art school twats if anyone else wants to get a bit rowdy with me.

vcu's student section is tiny. Don't believe the hype. My friend goes to vcu and his first college basketball game was at Mason lol. They do really well with getting students out to games because they did a good job of keeping the FF hype going. If vcu would ever go thru a viral infection, their student turnout would be way worse than Mason's.

Students are trying to get more students involved in athletics. It's not like they're not trying, its just hard when students don't come in understanding the history here. Kids know Tech and UVA are 'good' at sports (because mommy and daddy probably went there), but they barely even know Mason is DI.

It'll take time, but we'll get there (again).

And with all the TBA game times still listed on the schedule, we have the potential for a lot more. Though I think in today's media age "nationally televised" is less important as just being televised/streamed.

Nationally televised used to mean it was the primary option on one of a few channels, not so anymore. But still good!

It is encouraging plus I think we'll see us at least more competitive this season so watching them won't make me bleed out my eyes.

What channels are games usually on? My gf and I just got out first apartment out in Arlington and I want to watch as many games as possible. I didn't grow up around here so I'm not really familiar with the TV lineup and I want to make sure I order whatever channels I need to.

Never met a guy who had to ask a message board what channels to find sports on. I guess that's our current fanbase. Maybe try the "guide" button your remote. The networks were all posted on gomason.com and atlantic10.com yesterday.

Wow. Since I lived on campus the last four years I had the chance to go to every game. Was simply asking so that I had them ahead of time, because you know, the "guide" isn't live until shortly before the games and I'm not trying to being calling Comcast a minute before tipoff. Thanks for not being condescending though.

I just hate how a large portion of our fanbase seems to be watching sports for the first time but yet most on here gripe that Eagle Bank isn't packed every game....

That's fair but I was simply asking for channels in case there were any other than the usual NBC/CBS sports or whatever the local affiliate of comcast sportsnet is down here that carry us. Just wanted to make sure there weren't any off the beaten path that I was forgetting because I likely won't be getting to Eagle Bank every game this year like I've been able to in the past.

I don't have numbers, but I would bet a very large number of people posting on a George Mason basketball forum aren't exactly complete newbies, especially with the state of our program. If this was an Alabama football thread or something then maybe.

Its usually a wait and see but MASN/MASN2 usually picks up a feed depending on the game. Comcast Sportsnet usually has games 1-2 times a week but they dont usually pick up a different feed (I think, but could be wrong). Just depends if it isn't pre announced on an ESPN/NBC/CBS network.

Just an FYI, you can also watch all road games as well on the A10 website if they are not televised. I would suggest you get the yearly subscription instead of the 24 hour one. It saves you alot of money and its pretty reliable.

MasonSAE4 - I think with the relatively recent conference switch it's hard to answer your question because there are new channels and changes to the agreements each year. If you get the mid tier sports package you will probably have most channels you need - the local ones like masn, masn2, csn, etc. in addition to some NBC Sports (which also has a streaming option).

I'll be doing the A10 streaming option this year since I cut the cord, which is a lifesaver since there is no way to get masn/csn unless you have cable/satellite. Currently I'm only really not able to watch Nat's games, but will be able to watch playoffs.

Well, kinda. UVa football got steamrolled by Richmond last week. Still pretty good at the hoops and baseball though.

No person should ever be dissed for asking how to watch a Mason game. Whether student or not, whether 20 or 60, whether lifelong fan or newbie, all are welcome in Mason Nation.
