It's a fast, non-big man based conference. Not the end of the world to not have 13 yolked guys on the roster. Our lack of a true, skilled center concerns me a bit, but if there's a conference to get away with it in this is probably it.

Grayer added size and looks much more cut than last year, Newman's arms are more filled out than when he arrived this summer, Temara and Boyd both came in with muscular frames and look to be building on that. The only guy who doesn't look more filled out is Wilson because he just got on campus, and by the start of next summer he will be much stronger and ready to contribute in a big way. I don't mean to leave out Kier, but he's wearing sleeves.

I am really excited to see Relvao. Dude is 6'9 250lbs. He had an entire year to learn what is expected of him, work on his body and develop his game. All that he has to do when he gets his chance is move bodies in the paint and catch the ball.

You do realize Marquis Moore was included in the team photo right? That alone disqualifies your comment from rational consideration.

Hey I saw one live game last year....and UMASS looked prison yard compared to us in development and size...so nothing in the photo of this year made me go wow..."we caught up" except for Jenkins, Boyd and Grayer.

The rest look like HS kids.

Moore is 5"11 without the fro...he's a bit wide...but that's from the Donald Ross plan I hear.

Or maybe they need more ink....cause that adds 20lbs in the look department.

The reason most of them "look like HS kids" is they're still so young.

That's what happens when 11 of your 13 players are freshmen and sophomores.

They're working hard and getting stronger, but it doesn't happen overnight.

I kinda sense where KA is coming from......Not only did UMASS look old man, but so did Dusquene and other A1o teams. We might be in a long re build b/c even though we are doing it right, it may not translate to where we want to be (top 4 every year) b/c every program poaches a few older bucks to help them fill in areas of need. Or they keep a guy around forever due to injury etc... Unfortunetly, we won't and probably shouldn't, but will forever be pushed down in this conference b/c of it. Don't see a way around it unless we really start to sign legit 4 star horses.

Seems we could still have balanced classes and add a transfer now and again too. Paulsen seems very committed to his principles - no transfers, no steals, etc. We shall see.

I'm really not following why you think we'll "forever be pushed down" in the conference.

It's no mystery why so many A-10 teams had decided advantages in size and strength last season -- especially in the backcourt, where 3 of our 4 scholarship regulars were freshmen.

It stands to reason that juniors and seniors are stronger and more able to assert themselves. They've had 3 or 4 years in college-level strength and conditioning programs.

We had three freshmen who started 13 or more games last season. Both Otis and Jaire started 30-plus. They had only been in the weight room for a few months before the season started.

Barring something weird, we're not going to need to start more than 1 freshman (if that) this season.

And unless we continue to change coaches every 3-4 years, which I don't anticipate, our guys are going to get older, bigger and stronger just like the rest of the A-10.

It's going to take some time -- that's what happens when you hire somebody who destroys your program -- but there is zero reason to believe we are doing anything but moving rapidly in the right direction under the current staff.

Just saying if most a10 teams consistently are older, bigger that usually is an advantage vs a true classed team. We can't expect to surpass them. See OCM 2006 and his "older" in the caa.

They're not going to be consistently older and bigger unless we experience mass transfers and have to replace veteran players with skinny freshmen.

That goes for every other team in the A-10 and the NCAA for that matter.

As a fan base, we need to stay patient and appreciate even subtle signs of progress. We have one of the youngest teams in the country, but like our own children, these players won't stay young for long.

I'm more into tone than size.

Who would you guys say has the most finely toned buttocks this year? I'm blocked from most of their Twitter feeds so I have limited information to go on.

Hypothetical...if you were to go gay, who would you go gay with? On the team and on the planet?

For me it's Grayer and Leo DiCaprio.
