even though Ahmad looks like a decent recruit, I none of us should get too excited about him yet. There is a very real chance he doesn't play at GMU due to our coaching situation.

A Mayimba redshirt is far from the worst thing for our program. This is a lost season anyhow, and burning his redshirt year makes it that much more difficult a decision to transfer when Hewitt gets his walking papers.

He is a tremendous shooter, which is obviously a huge area of need for us.

Since when has Hewitt recruited 5'11 2 star PG's? Haven't we just spent 4 years with our heads up our asses b/c of the biggest missing piece to his nba style system? ie a tall athletic scoring PG?

OK, now it's getting real with Ahmad Gilbert.

Had 27 vs. St. Anthony in HoopHall Classic last month. Then averaged 32 ppg in 3 tournament games at nationally-ranked Montverde, including 41 against Riverside (Calif.).

This kid is a big, big, big-time scorer. Looking like an absolute steal because he really only blew up into a HM target after he committed to us.

Absolutely imperative that we find some way to keep him in the fold if there's a coaching change. Having 6-7 guys like Gilbert and Mayimba for four years at the 2 and 3 spots would be straight filthy.
