Anyone know how Porter did in Potomac's opening game? I saw that they won but can't find a box score.

I noticed in the W. Post this morning that Potomac (Va.) won but Porter is not listed in the "box score" so I assume for some reason he did not play.

Mayimba had 9 points for St. James as they went to 2 - 0. Included two 3-pointers.

Porter led Potomac with 15 points on Saturday night as his team won and moved to 2 - 0.

To put to rest any doubts, the Panthers’ head boys basketball coach had a face-to-face conversation with his star 6-foot-10 senior center and asked him about his plans. The discussion didn’t take long.

Porter made his intentions clear. He was returning to win a state title.

“That made me feel good,” Honore said. “Trey tells you how he feels. He doesn’t sugarcoat it. He’s an honest kid.”

At one point, Porter said he considered transferring to Cape Henry, a Virginia Beach-based private school that reached the VISAA Division I state semifinals last season and had a bevy of talented players in place to make a run at the state championship this season.

Saw Trey Porter earlier today play pick up at a local rec center....kid already has more game and better hands than Copes. I know thats setting the bar kinda low but thats my observation. I think Porter will end up being a similar player to Mike Mo, with a a mid range jumper.

Haha, it's so true. Dunking is hard to do when you play fundamentally unsound basketball.

I heard from a few fellow fans that apparently the staff is recruiting Kobe Eubanks hard to take the final scholarship. Hes regarded as a 6'5 scorer...

That would certainly explain why Hewitt played hardball with JA over a redshirt.

Eubanks is a big-time scorer with range to the 3 and a slashing game -- if we got him to play the 2 along with Mayimba and Lockett at the 3, that would be incredible.
