Where Are They Now?

Not all that uncommon for players to transfer more than once. This has all the makings of a transfer to a P5 school.

If that happens, will be the 4th player out of the group of departures (transfers and decommits) post Hewitt who ended up at a P5 school:
1. Jackson at OSU
2. Jackson at Providence
3. Gilbert at Minnesota (transfered to Rider and sat out this past season)
4. Porter ?

If only we had kept half of that talent...

Is Porter that highly regarded? He didn't make the C-USA first, second, or even third team this year?

No idea, maybe so, or maybe just in his mind. Maybe he is actually transferring to pursue a grad degree not offered at ODU.

Hancock was only 3rd team CAA his sophomore year.

Understand but Luke was on a team that was ranked at one point on the top 25, had a 17 game win streak and got an at large bid as an unprecedented 8 seed.

ODU didn't even sniff the NIT this year.

Also Luke transferred after his sophomore year, so he had not fully developed his game yet.Porter is transferring with only one year left.

There has to be some personal reason like disagreement with the coach, family issues or even delusions of NBA grandeur involved here.

Very well could be, just don't think it's a given. Maybe NC State is thin in the front court next year and reached out. Lots of teams with lots of holes to fill. Maybe he is an idiot and transfers somewhere and ends up a backup, just saying there are a variety of reasons why he may be transferring. I'm not surprised by it - dude is crazy athletic for 6'10.

They are also going to be super thin in the paint next year so he wanted to transfer to try to get to the dance.

His loss leaves ODU with just two returning frontcourt players: 6-foot-7 forward Aaron Carver and 6-6 forward Alfis Pilavios . Carver averaged 2.2 points. Pilavios appeared in nine games and scored four points.
The Monarchs signed 6-9 Joe Reece and 6-8 Kalu Ezikpe in the 2018 recruiting class, a pair of three-star recruits. Even when it appeared Porter would return, ODU was pursuing another big man, most likely a junior college or graduate transfer.

Yea where ever he goes, the coach had to have guaranteed him a starting position. Anything other than that would just be flat out stupid. Many majors fall in love with size.

I'll be very interested to see where he ends up and how he does. I watched 3 games this year he played in and was not impressed one bit. Very soft for a guy his size.

But I also don't make a living assessing basketball talent so who knows....

I’ve watched them all play the past couple years. Providence seems to always be on TV around here for some reason. I would not want Isaiah Jackson back at all. He has a couple good games this year, but was largely inconsistent and did not effect the games I watched at all. And Gilbert did nothing at Minnesota. I don’t really put C.J. in the same category as he was a decommit. I’d take Porter back, but it ain’t happening. He already turned DP down once and, as Chank stated, he’s kinda soft.

Out of all the transfers, I personally have been most impressed with Eric Lockett. Maybe that’s only because I watched him drop 30 on Charlotte though.

Eric Lockett probably fits into Paulsen’s system the best. He would have been a welcome addition as a slightly under-sized stretch 4 type player the last few seasons.

Wait Blow Jobs are illegal???

Only if performed by a hooker paid by a school in order to sway a recruit’s decision.

When I’m president, we will use blow jobs to bring the country together, not punish professionals who have dedicated their careers to provide perfect head.

Since he won’t be with ODU next year, that could put them on our schedule a year early. Porter was the big hold up on scheduling them, so I’m told

Five Two where u at? Tim Tebow 3 run homer on the first pitch he sees as a Binghamton Rumble Pony. Sorry Mason fans - though it baffles why anyone would not be interested in Binghamton, N.Y. news.

My guess is he is looking for one more shot to dance and ODU isn’t it?
ODU is going to be absolute trash next season. Porter was the only player they have returning that is any good at all. I can't blame him for wanting out. Jeff Jones might be on the hot seat.

Trey Porter, a 6-11, 230-pound forward who averaged 13.2 points and 6.2 rebounds at Old Dominion as a redshirt junior, will take an unofficial visit to Maryland. Porter has graduated and would be eligible to play in 2018-19. Porter’s mom lives in Annapolis.

According to an ODU fan I know, they only have at most 1 open spot on their schedule, and they're trying to fill that with a Power 5.

I saw the video!!
I believe he's now hit a HR in his first at bat at each of his minor league stops.
Is it true he bought a house in Windsor?
Why would he buy and why Windsor?
