Where Are They Now?

yup, Mo was there. Speaking of Mo, I heard a rumor from a credible source that he actually wanted to go to Mason out of high school but there was an issue that he didn’t qualify academically or something along those lines. Has anyone else heard that before?
No. We offered him. Pretty sure the NCAA clearing house rules apply equally to every program. Don’t see how he would be academically eligible at vcu and not Mason.

NCAA establishes minimum eligibility requirements, schools can and do have stricter standards and so very frequently athletes may qualify at one school but not others. In football for instance, it's why a lot of guys with power5 offers end up at Marshall.

I understand that, but I find it hard to believe in the case of Mo Allie-Cox and Mason.

I’ve heard this used as an excuse my whole life for why schools like W&M and UVA have a harder time recruiting than everyone else. Is Mason more concerned with academics than vcu? Maybe. Are we turning away an NCAA qualifier with that sort of talent? Highly doubt it.

Stumbled across these articles about Shevon and highlight recently:

https://www.ridiculousupside.com/20...e-nba-big-dleague-erie-bayhawks-dleague-nbadl

The article above from last year states, “When you look at a seven-footer standing at 225 pounds, you think of a defensive terror for teams. But, that is something that Thompson is not. The big man is still learning how to adapt to the speed of the American game, and his defense is what is withholding him from getting a shot with an NBA team”.

Shevon is averaging 1 more block (highlight) per game and 1.5 more defensive rebounds per game in almost the same minutes per game as last year. I wouldn’t be surprised if he gets a stint with an NBA team sometime soon.

“Since the trade for Shevon Thompson back in November, the 905 has had a solid centre rotation, with Thompson and Meeks looking like possible call-up candidates. Thompson once again played limited minutes off the bench and produced like always. He put up 14 points, 5 rebounds and 4 blocks in just 19 minutes of play.” https://www.raptorshq.com/2018/1/25...905-raptors-905-shevon-thompson-bruno-caboclo

Just looked it up on his vcu profile. He redshirted his freshman year... “Sat out 2012-13 season after being ruled a partial qualifier by the NCAA.” This would support the rumor I heard.

Rumor is that he has a Masters, is on the Indy practice squad and can play ball for money at will in Europe. Funny how those we make fun of manage to shove it in our faces isn't it.

Quick look at what Aikean Frederick is doing at Kent St this year. Many will remember that AK was a Jr College prospect that visited last year before he decided to stay at home in Ohio.

11.9 MPG
3.8 PPG
2.4 RPG

Forward right? Pretty unimpressive. Might be getting more PT with GMU.

I mentioned this in the Miami thread. Quarterman received money from an agent, not the school. Also, he was already a Junior when he received it.

As far as I can tell, everything mentioned in this article is from agent to player/players family. Mostly clickbait.

We lost one player from a blow job and another for cash. Mason needs to step up their recruiting game!

The NCAA just needs to make blow jobs legal in the recruiting process. That would also create more (blow) jobs and invigorate local economies by "taxing" that a**. The trickle down effect would induce increased sales of Abreva, Altoids etc.. spurring economic growth.
