Where Are They Now?

"If he can improve his rim-protection (just .4 blocks in 21 minutes per game) and position himself just a split second quicker, he has the potential to be an above average defender. Along with those physical traits, just playing in the Summer League and D-League is the best way for him to improve on defense by getting more reps.

After averaging an impressive 17.8 points and 9.4 rebounds (4.4 offensive) per game on 61% from the field, it would seem that Shevon Thompson has a legitimate chance to get a call-up next season. That call-up would come if Thompson can refine his post-game, continue to expand the jump shot to 15 feet and learn how to rotate and play defense. Think of how many years everyone else has been playing this sport as opposed to Thompson. As a wise man once said, 'The ceiling is the roof' for this guy. The call isn’t as far off as some may think."

If he makes it onto an actual NBA bench it will be an absolutely incredible accomplishment (not that what he has achieved so far is not). If this happens, I really hope he is able to play in a game at the Verizon center and we can get a large group out there. Maybe the AD would take some initiative and purchase a block of tickets? Also, he could be paired up with Muscala.

Trivia Question - Who was the last Mason men's basketball scholarship player from Fairfax County?

Mark Davis (2002-04) is correct!
While I am taking a chance correcting Pablo, Mark Davis can't be right.

Brian Miller played for Mason from 1984-88, and he graduated from Mount Vernon High School. I would have thought there was a player from Fairfax earlier than Miller, but it certainly can't be Davis.

I think you have a different definition of the word "last".

It means his injury won't allow him to play. My question is at the bottom, what does #securedthebag mean?

Former president George Johnson is now dead for the foreseeable future.

Hats off to GJ, the real force behind what Mason is today. I'd take his corpse over the smiling Spaniard idiot we have today any day. Or Merten.

After 2 home runs last night, Former Patriot Justin Bour is now tied for 3rd in all of MLB in HRs along with Bryce Harper, Ryan Zimmerman and Logan Morrison.

He was just listed by CBS at #80 in the Top 100 Current Players in Baseball.

Here's hoping he gets invited to the HR Derby next month

As a pre-arbitration player, Bour only made $537,500 last season, and I don't believe any other Mason baseball alumni are currently on an MLB 40-man roster.

This information is not public, but I wonder what the average donation of a Patriot Club member is compared to their salary. What is the average percentage donors give. I know you are supposed to give 10% to church. If an MLB player gives just 1% that's a sizable donation to the athletic department.

I doubt Dayton Moore is hurting as GM of the Kansas City Royals.

Speaking of, there is an Alumni-Athlete giving challenge every year and Baseball is currently in the lead.
