So after 2 full years he is eligible for DII but was not for DI after 1? F the NCAA

He should have been eligible after successfully completing his first year in college. These eligibility rules, I thought, were in place to stop diploma mills from existing, not punishing kids who come to this country for opportunity.

I'm curious how the NCAA decided his course work in his home country didn't count. Did they travel to Gabon?

I have a friend who made a documentary about two Somali soccer players which have now both made their way to his hometown of St. Louis. One is attending SLU and hoping to play this fall but awaiting NCAA clearance because he played on a team where he received compensation. They are optimistic, but I'm worried about him being cleared.

Here are some links, I encourage everyone to check it out:

The newest member of the US Men's Soccer Team, 17 year old Christian Pulisic is the son of 2 Mason Soccer Alumni. Wish he would come play at Mason but he's already playing professionally for Borussia Dortmund in the top German League.

His Father..."Between 1986 and ’89, Mark Pulisic made 73 appearances (62 starts) for George Mason, posting 35 goals and 11 assists. He was the Patriots’ top scorer in three of his four seasons and was selected three times to the all-Colonial Athletic Association first team."

Christian’s mother, Kelley, also played for George Mason, scoring 13 goals in 73 appearances from 1989 to 1992.

St. Andrew’s junior Anthony Duruji forged his own multi-sport, multi-school recruiting path, and it resulted in a commitment to Louisiana Tech earlier this week. But if not for a 2006 Cinderella story, the high-flying swingman might have never even considered heading south and playing for the Conference USA program.

Tony Skinn, a Louisiana Tech assistant, was a starting guard for George Mason in its historic run to the Final Four as the No. 11 seed. But before reuniting with Bulldogs Coach Eric Konkol — a former Patriots assistant — Skinn was coaching Duruji on Team Takeover. It was there with the prominent AAU program that the two developed a bond. Both have Nigerian roots — Skinn, a native, played on the national team — and both share a passion for basketball.

“It’s the Nigerian connection,” Duruji said. “I guess, it’s just in our blood.”

I don't think anyone has mentioned it yet, but Bryon Allen will be playing on the 76er's summer league team. They have an extremely thin group of guards so I'd say he has as good a chance there than any other team in the league.

I hadn't mentioned this before, but undrafted Kent Bazemore just got a 70 million contract with Atlanta in this years insane free agency market. So it's possible to make it in the league even if you've got to claw your way into your first roster.
