For those who are nostalgic about the CAA, Coach L takes on Bruiser Flint in the Charleston Classic today at 3pm on ESPNU. I'm sure Coach L still hasn't forgotten about the Cheesesteak Massacre.

Sherrod is already off of West Chester's roster. This is disappointing to me because I go to a lot of D League games and was looking forward to him coming to town in late December

ESPN just showed a clip of Larranaga's pregame speech prior to tonight's game against Illinois in the ACC-Big 10 Challenge.

He stressed "Share the ball. Everybody on this team can score so make sure you're moving the ball. When we get a lot of assists, it's a sign we're playing our game."

Reminded me of when we used to play on TV and we had a coach that stressed team play over 1-on-1 garbage. Those were the days.

For games thru 12/1/14, Miami (FL) is 41st in D-1 in assists per game (16.1). Mason is 335th (8.2 apg).

TOC royally screwed the program. The burned bridge probably rules out good up and coming coaches from the L tree. Cherry, Caputo, Courtney etc. I feel for the next coach. He is going to have to pull us out of a deep deep hole. I dont envy Brad Edwards either. But I do wonder if he will rebuild that bridge.

He and Merten didn't appreciate what they had until he was gone, simple as that.

It's human nature that when someone stays in one place as long as Larranaga did and maintains a high level of excellence, you can begin to take him for granted.

Watching him build a top-15 team at Miami for the second time in 3 years is a painful reminder of how good a basketball coach he really is.

Not exactly. More $ for assistants was one specific item. And im sure watching vcu smoke us on and off the court didnt help. Thing is OCM deserved it whereas vcu took a big risk with Smart.

I was including an increase for the Mason assistants when I mentioned the financial package for Smart. As far as vcu smoking Mason on the court, whose fault was this.

Let's be honest. Larranaga is a loyal guy who stayed at both Bowling Green & Mason for a long time. Now, he's where he wants to be.
