"DALLAS – UTEP men's basketball senior standout Otis Frazier III has been voted to the Preseason All-Conference USA team . . .

Frazier III was a key player for the Orange and Blue in 2023-24, helping them compile 18 wins on their way to appearing in the CUSA Tournament Championship contest for the first time since 2011. He was an All-CUSA Honorable-Mention honoree, in addition to being voted to the CUSA All-Defensive team.

He started 32 of 34 contests while rating second on the team in rebounding (4.7 rpg-19th CUSA), free throws made (91-tied sixth CUSA) and attempted (139-fourth CUSA) and third for scoring (10.6 ppg) and playing time (27.5 mpg). The Buckeye, Ariz., native paced the team in steals (2.2 spg-second CUSA/19th NCAA), with both his average per game and total steals (75-second CUSA/15th NCAA) ranking third on UTEP's single-season lists. The efforts in those areas helped the Miners lead the country in both steals per game (11.4) and turnovers forced per contest (18.7) while also setting school records in those categories."

"A shaky start that saw the Knights fail on each of their first eight tries from the field was quickly shoved aside with an emphatic dunk by junior transfer Keyshawn Hall, giving UCF its first two points of the season while trimming the Aggies’ lead to 6-2 just under five minutes in."

"In their respective UCF debuts, Ivy-Curry (16), Taylor (10) and Hall (10) joined Johnson in double-digit scoring, while freshman Moustapha Thiam, the first five-star recruit and the highest-ranked recruit in program history, made his seven-foot, two-inch frame felt with six blocks, finishing two shy of the program’s single-game record."

"Myron Contee, the longtime chaplain at the William G. Truesdale Adult Detention Center, was recently honored as a Living Legend of Alexandria. Chaplain Contee was one of nine highly dedicated community members selected in the Living Legends of Alexandria’s 2024 class.

The Sheriff’s Office nominated Chaplain Contee for this honor in recognition of his work to support the spiritual well-being of hundreds of incarcerated individuals each year. Sheriff Sean Casey and several colleagues from the Sheriff’s Office attended the Living Legends reception on November 7 at the George Washington Masonic Memorial and were proud to see Chaplain Contee honored.

Chaplain Contee has served as the jail chaplain for 15 years. He coordinates faith-based services and programs, delivered by volunteers, to inmates, and he also works with other members of the clergy to facilitate specific pastoral service requests and ensure inmates can observe religious practices, diets and holidays.

Chaplain Contee works closely with Inmate Services staff and provides spiritual support to inmates who seek his guidance. This can help them during their incarceration while they are separated from their families and dealing with the circumstances that led to their arrest. By bolstering their faith, Chaplain Contee also strengthens their foundation for success when they return to the community. In doing so, Chaplain Contee has a significant and lasting impact on these returning citizens, their families and the community."

I was one of Myron's classmates. He's still one of my favorites.

"F" the "G League." No love for Mason.

They updated Oduro's profile to: "Josh Oduro (born October 14, 2000) is a center for the Birmingham Squadron. He played college basketball at Providence."

One year there vs four years at Mason should at least get us a mention.
