GIVING DAY 2023
Quickly becoming a new favorite of mine. Probably the fastest guard since Cornelius, except he has more of a handle and seems more "under control".

Very excited to see what he can do the next few years, and with more options to pass around to.

From what he's shown so far, in my view, he's already as good a pg as we've ever had, certainly as a freshman. And has the potential of being the best ever!

Haven't seen this mentioned yet, but there was a really cool scene a few minutes after the game where Otis was standing on the court, waving his arms to pump up the crowd, then running around and slapping hands with people in different sections. The rest of the team was already in or headed to the locker room. Otis was soaking every last drop of it in. He looked like he didn't want the night to end. Quite honestly, neither did I. Love that little guy.

He's almost a foot shorter and 70 pounds lighter than George Evans was, but some years from now, I predict we will look back on Otis in much the same manner: a guy we were lucky to get, and a guy who led our program out of the abyss to lasting success.

Remarkable to think that a player of his caliber was resigned to taking a prep year because he couldn't get a decent D-I offer.

He's the best ball handler we've had since I started following Mason b-ball...and the scary part is he's only going to get better! He had the vcu defenders literally falling all over themselves. What a joy to watch.
True, he broke a few ankles last night.

When i met Otis at the meet and greet before the season he looked so intimidated by coming to play in the A-10 probably hoping to see the court for a few minutes a game. Now here he is running the team on and off the court. Being a captain of sorts. Last night late in the game after Grayer had missed his first two free throws, he went back to the line a few seconds later, missed the first. Otis came up to him and talked to him for a good 8-10 seconds. Grayer hit the next free throw. If that doesnt show you what kind of leader and man Otis is i dont know what does. the kid has so much moxie and I cant wait to see just how good he will be in 2-3 years from now.

Finally got to talk to Doc Nix at Brion's before the game and told him of my attempts to get the crowd in 115 to chant "Otis" followed by "My Man"! He loved it so I suggested he find a time to have the Green Machine play Shama Lama Ding Dong. Work in progress, we'll see.

Not to nitpick but Grayer missed the second one too. That said Otis took a foul under the basket going for a rebound on vcu's next possession and drained two FTs. Ice in his veins.

The Green Machine and crowd needs to yell "Otis My Man" after he makes a free throw instead of the usual chant.
