Or Hire Skinn and let him build something and raise his salary accordingly with success. Skinn is about only coach that A. Will want to come B. If he fails, fans won't run quickly. Mason has an awful situation on it's hands if English leaves because they have no AD and honestly what coach is going to want the job? It's going to have to be a first time head coach. No established coach worth a crap is coming to mason. They will either be too old, too out of touch and can't recruit in the A10 or want way too much money! Will be very interesting if mason can even Lure away someone like a UVA assistant. He may just so NO! VT assistant just sounds sad and pathetic to be honest.... How did we ever get to a point where VT of all places has better basketball coaches. WOW! That used to be one of the absolute worst programs in the state of VA 10 years ago. I guess Buzz Williams was just that great of a coach

ok I've had a night to chew on it. although Kimmy seems like a cool coach, I'm on the "let him go" to greener pastures bus.

We will get a $1 mil buyout (it probably pays off the Hewitt and DP buyouts for a cash-strapped Mason Athletic department). I don't think CKE has done enough at GMU to warrant an extension after 2 years. good recruiter, meh results.

May be way to go. Finish Buyout of Hewitt and Paulsen, name interim head coach and just have a god awful season and wait for a new ad to make any permanent moves.

What makes you think the AD is cash strapped right now?

I agree that it feels like that. But in looking it up, Paulsen's 2017 team (Otis, Jaire, Marquis) averaged 75% (41st in Div 1). 74% the following year. Obviously I had to look it up.

Likely a function of having your best foul shooters getting fouled a lot. Duh!

not sure why Speedy would leave his Alma mater for a middling A10 team. It’s not like to feel hundred K in extra salary is going to matter to someone like him.

My guess is if he leaves Hofstra it’s going to either be for a much bigger program than us or for an NBA job.
