Threw a missed ally oop and paulsen kicked the scoreboard and subbed him out. Then he mysteriously got hurt. #conspiracy #peachbaskets #paulsenwouldbeagreatcoachin1960 #paulsenkilledepsteinforlikingdunks

Hey lets face it, basketball is not important to George Mason. This is one of the poorest team efforts i have seen.
Ok so no more Kier, that s a shame. So Paulson has his excuse for the rest of the year. Please they have so little talent.
Need to run off, Calixte, Mar, and Hartwell. Just not A10 players. Clean house and start over with a new coach.

Medical redshirt?

From everything Ive been told, originally it wouldn’t be a medical redshirt for Justin’s personal reasons.

Then from Dave’s press conference last night he mentioned they are exploring the possibility for a medical redshirt which would obviously be at the mercy of the NCAA and whether Justin wants to play D1 ball again.

I’d personally love Justin to come back again. I think putting him with this team makes them much better.

Fair question: If you are Wilson, Boyd or Kier, why would you want to come back next year if a better opportunity exists to make the NCAAT? I don't doubt for a second that all three of them love Mason and the program, but they would be wasting their fifth year here if their primary goal is to dance in March.

Hell, Kier might have a better shot making it to Tournament with JMU next year than with Mason. What a great story that would make: "Local Star Once Shunned Returns To Save Home Team"

I honestly dont know how to answer that question. I’m guessing it would depend on a lot of factors and any of their specific goals.

And lol yeah I could imagine those headlines. Kier making the tournament with JMU would go over real well with us :bricks:

That's reasonable. I know there are other factors outside of the NCAAT. Of the three, I think AJ is the most likely to leave given he has the most talent to help put a P5 team over the top (even as a reserve).

We'd also have to play against him in Harrisonburg next year...

Sadly it appears the dark side of the force is too strong for even a good guy like Tom to resist.

AJ>injured can't drive Kier... plus isn't Boyd taking the JDS open spot (who knows he may not leave)

So now we’re operating under the assumption that AJ is leaving and Kier’s foot will not heal following surgery and eight months of rest/rehab?

That would certainly work to your advantage in getting rid of the coach.

Would be weird if AJ and JDS both transfer and Boyd and Kier stick around for their 5th seasons.

You'd probably see Miller basically shift to the 4 full-time, if that's the case, which would be unfortunate for him, but probably good for the team.

I think everyone should be under the assumption that we currently have 0 scholarships available with 1 guy that will certainly get a medical redshirt (Boyd who by all intents wants to come back) and another (Kier who knows if he wants to come back or if he will qualify for it... he is right at the cusp of games played for a normal medical redshirt)... Plus we have a kid who will garner some 6th 7th man offers from power 5 basketball conferences (I already know one school smells blood in water)... No, I don't expect AJ, Kier AND Boyd to come back next year. Not by a long shot. so no the program won't be better IMO

I am no doctor but do know if you keep getting the same stress fracture on the same foot (what I heard has happened) it most likely will never be the same. He had 7 months of rest/rehab and he was obviously not the same player (he could barely run). I love Kier just like the next guy but the Kier from last year before the injury is dead and gone. He can adapt to a new game I am sure but jeesh Jim you ever broken a foot before?
