Do you guys think that Greg gets a redshirt this year if he doesn't win the starting job or significant minutes?
Don't think so with the inexperience at the 5. Minutes will prob go to whoever practiced the best during the week.

Oh just thought it would be good to have him as a freshman with Reuter coming in the year after.
We have 3 centers all fighting for one spot. And 1 pretty damn good redshirt practicing with them. I have faith 1 out of the three will step up and elevate their game.

If anything I hope Calixte isn't red shirted to light a fire under Troy's and Daniel's a**. Their minutes arnt safe.

Even though I'm excited for one of our centers to step up, I'm also equally excited for the following athletic run you out of the gym line up.

Otis
Grayer
Boyd
Wilson
Mar

*this is not my prediction for a starting lineup. If I had to guess, I would say night to night their will be different starters.

Yea I hope to see that line up often. If Greene is the scorer he was in HS maybe him in instead of Otis.

I have got to believe you have been in the peace corps the last two years with no internet. that is just absurd.
In his defense, I don't think he is suggesting that Greene will start over Otis. At some point Otis will have to come off the floor, but I have a hard time imagining a lineup on the floor that doesn't include Otis or Kier.

Agreed, Otis won't need to play as much this year (maybe like 30 minutes a game on average instead of 35) if Greene is able to contribute, but I can't see Paulsen not wanting Kier's experience in if Greene is in to help with the ball handling etc

Yes what I meant was a line up where otis can rest. And can get positive minutes for Greene and still have some people to take pressure off of him.

As stated above, Greene will probably be on the floor with Kier to share ballhandling responsibilities.

Paulsen seems confident that Greene can help right away, so hopefully he'll get 10-12 minutes a game so Otis won't wear down like he has the last two seasons.

edit: That being said, we have a huge question mark at the 5 that hopefully gets answered by someone.

Just bumping this.

Calixte has continued to show promise. No longer looking lost. He handles himself well when he get the ball deep and is physical enough to be a horse underneath.

Clearly this appears to be a learning curve year, but there is hope down the road as he gets more game experience.

I would like to see the following line up not a starting lineup but curious how this would be.
Otis
Grayer
Wilson

Still got to learn how to establish positioning for rebounds, though. Would love to have Marquise and Shevon teach him how to read the ball coming off the rim.

I don't disagree, but I love that he doesn't seem overwhelmed with conference play still yet to start. Transition from high school to college is much tougher for a big man than a guard, so I think the physical strides he's shown as a true freshman have been impressive. As you pointed out, lets hope the instinctual part of his game evolves as well.
