Welcome DeAndre Abram

Spoke to coach Fischer about him today, got the feeling he's going to be a project. He basically said we'll probably get production from him later in his career here.

Seriously? Yes, I understand you still get credit for the basket, but if you are creating a tape of yourself to show to prospective schools and coaches, you probably want to show off a silky smooth, in rhythm shot and not a top of the key toss that happens to bank in. I'll happily check out the other video (on a plane now so no video abilities) and hope that it shows a smoother stroke. Again, I like the kid and hope he can contribute right away, just not trying to wear shades that are too green and gold tinted.
Surprised you didn't complain about two handed dunks...

No word yet on whether there was any actual writing on the paper in front of him, but it is nice to hear that he officially signed today. Welcome to Mason, DeAndre!

He seems like a well-spoken young man that has the fire and determination to become a better basketball player. He seems really eager to get to campus and learn the system. I see this change in team character similar to my Eagles team where they are bringing hard working guys (Nelson Agholor, Jordan Matthews, Eric Rowe) compared to players that were maybe a bit too cocky or knew they had the ability so they didnt put in the extra time and effort so they could keep improving.

Hey now, let's keep the Eagles out of this. But yes to everything else.

They don't look all that dissimilar either:

It appears that DeAndre Abram or Jaire Grayer will be the starter at the "3". Unless I'm mistaken, the last freshmen to start a season opener for Mason were George Evans and Tremaine Price in the 1997-98 season.

I think DeAndre Abram and Jaire Grayer will be critical at the 3 spot, both show flashes on offense
