It's time to cyberbully the jellyfish in Mason's administration into giving Tony a fat raise and extension. On X the everything network formerly known as Twitter:

@MasonAD_MLewis

Make sure they fill the NIL coffers too so we can stay competitive.
Sent a tweet, will continue doing it everyday until the season is over.

Can let Mason, Mason this one

I appreciate the desire to keep Tony. I do too.

But with the possibility of the overhead on Federal Grants being cut drastically, discretionary funds held by university administrators are likely to be quite scarce. Just giving a heads-up of what Mason and other Research 1 universities are facing.

And yet every other school will have a higher paid coach

They better listen because I do not want to have to write one of my stupid letters again.

I spoke to Dr. Washington at HC this past weekend about this very issue. Dr. W said that it's up to us fans to make sure Tony gets rewarded and NIL doesn't dry up. Donate. Donate. Donate.

Always pushing off blame from themselves when it comes to their incompetence with funding the basketball program.

Most of our AD is funded by student fees. Unless you plan on forcing students to pay for Skinn’s salary, Washington is 100% correct. Come to games, donate to the program, buy merch. It’s not the academic side’s job to pay for the sports teams.

The one caveat to this is if he makes the tournament. A10 gives a larger split of NCAA payouts to the tournament participants so we will have that money to give to the staff.

Paying CTS is important but equally important is for more students/fans to fill EBA. I can not stress enough how important that is to CTS and the players, especially with our team on a 10 game winning streak and sitting in 1st place. Everyone has been saying "winning cures everything" well the coaching staff and players are doing their job, now its time for us (Mason Alum/fans) to start doing ours.

Correct me if I’m wrong but that money drips in over a three plus year period, no? The donations a tournament appearance would bring in is probably a safer bet for a funding stream.

I think it’s 5. $2 million per unit the conference earns (or about $400,000 per year per game).

So last year the conference made $8 million (Dayton x2, Duquense x2). They split 70% of that money (if I’ve got this right that’s $560,000 per year for each for the next 5) we split the remaining 30% with the other 12 teams who didn’t make the tournament. So it would be a decent bump in funding if we started making the NCAA tournament and the conference went on a run or two.

Now if the players start getting paid, they’ll take a good chunk of that money.

Harumph!! Sorry, fans can do their bit, but outside of a huge donor or two, which so far we don't have, it is NOT up to us to pay to keep Tony! Even if we all gave through our collective wazoos, all of us combined couldn't match even ONE big donor.
Sounds like W is laying the groundwork for passing the buck when/if Tony walks:
Blame the fans.
That really ticks me off!
