ACC may just die entirely when couple schools bolt.
Very very long time. If anyone is ever going to stay, it will be Tony. He could own Mason and the A10 for years to come if this trajectory continues. Will he make mega millions here? No. But the salary is going to set him up for life, and he is at home. Fingers crossed

Yeah, Tony probably isn't looking forward and thinking about his next job like Kim probably was. But someone could still make Tony an offer that he didn't imagine and can't refuse.

I found this Instagram clip of Tony Skinn last year saying "It's been everything. It's not everyday you get to represent the alma mater. A place that changed my life, give me an opportunity. Each possession, each half, each game, it means the world to me. That's going to be the case for me for a very, very long time"

Villanova too, but Neptune is a special case.

Oh and LaVelle Jordon at Butler (but also a special case).

No matter what we do we can’t compete financially with a UVA, UMD, or a Villanova. We have to hope that Skinn has enough loyalty and we do enough for him stick around until the job is done (that is a consistently relevant top A10 program), and if that means 25-30 years? Awesome. But I’m hoping for a solid 7 (10 years would be even better).
UVA is going after Ryan Odom.
Kevin Willard isn't leaving Maryland and Villanova actually might make the tournament and save Neptune's job.

Willard isn’t leaving of his own accord in this scenario…

Anyways, so far a lotta this talk is nonsense. Yall need to sit back and enjoy the ride of the season. Please.

We all know but some of us have been traumatized (Barnes, Larranaga, English) and freak out the second the team has any success. Cant blame them.

I don’t go all the way back to Barnes but can imagine what it must have been like.

One of the first things he said was "it's great to be home."

For obvious reasons, Tony has way more allegiance to Mason than any of his predecessors. I would like to think he won’t jump ship for the first girl that winks at him at a bar like FKE. He’s young and has plenty of time. Tony's been at Ohio State, Seton Hall, and Maryland. P4 Coaching is another level and he knows it. If I'm Tony, I take my time. He can win 20+ games a year at Mason year after year and not make the tournament and he'll still have a job. 3 or 4 straight years of 20+ wins at a P4 with no NCAAT, you're out. If we can get a decade out of Tony, that's a win.

With that said, we do need to protect our assets... including Venessa Blair-Lewis. As mentioned, upping NIL and Patriot Club donations as well as University increases to athletic dept funding and facility upgrades. Correct me if I'm wrong, but vibes I get from Dr. Washington is that he might be more willing to expand and support Athletics when needed compared to Merten and Cabrera who both seemed to be ultra conservative when it came to Athletics.

Skinn interview out. Two things stuck out:

1) Jalen could have played last year but decided not to lose the games he missed.

2) Skinn has to sometimes sub out Billups during practice just so he can run a set. Said Billups most often guards Maddox and O’Connor to help them prepare for what they’ll see during games.

In deeper context, Billups is excused during some offensive sets because his defense is TOO GOOD and that he knows to whom the ball is supposed to go and defends the play too well. The offense can't get reps in practice because Jared is such an awesome defender. What a TREMENDOUS problem to have!!

The AD really needs to engage with the fraternities and sororities on campus and really make an effort with them. I think there is like 20-25 fraternities on campus now (no joke, there is a lot) and a lot of them are into sports.

Also, they can issue like a challenge - the top sorority and fraternity that gets the most members out to a game, or multiple games, gets money towards their organization. Or something along those lines.

I don't think this has been attempted in years but would love to see past data and analytics on this in year's past.

Also would be nice to hear what campaigns the AD is doing across campus to get students engaged with Bball and sports in general to drive attendance.

Need better transparency with the core fans. What's working and what's not.
