GIVING DAY 2023
This aged well.
Definitely surprised us on what the plan at PG was this year. I did not see O'Connor being PG1.

I know I'm in the minority, but I think O'connor is fine in the role with others spelling him as needed. Yeah, at times the turnovers/assists numbers won't look great. But there have been plenty of times that O'Connor or KD lead a fast break or cut to the basket and find someone. Its a two way street because sometimes the pass isn't handled by the target when it should be. However, plenty of times I've seen a great pass out of both of them.

In addition, in Skinn's offense when we run our actions, we usually just need someone to bring the ball up and the ball is passed to someone else either on the wing or top of the key pretty quickly. We're never going to have the top point guard in the country, but as long as its not detrimental to running our offense (which I don't think it is at this point), we should be fine.

I will say it will be interesting to see what we do for next year. We'll (assuming of course), have Quigley, Begg, and O'connor available to run point. Does Begg get to be PG1? Does Quigley crack the rotation? Do we still go get the experienced guy who can fill in at point (like a KD)? We'll have to see how the roster unfolds.

O’Connor looks much more confident at the 1 now than he did at the beginning of the season, which was at times incredibly painful to watch. I don’t think he’s a multi-year solution to the position, but he will do for this year. Hopefully either Begg will grow into the role by next year or Skinn can convince a transfer to come in.

One of these guys might fill the roll, but I'm thinking Tony will need to find someone in the portal.

Considering that Quigley can’t crack the rotation, Begg will need help, and O’Connor is probably not the 100% answer, the answer right now is yes.

If Begg can take ownership of PG towards the second half of the season and show he’s ready, he may not need to. But to me neither Begg and/or Quigley as backups is enough.

I really hope Quigley cracks the rotation and figures out a role.

I love Skinn, but I’m just baffled at his decision not to go after a true PG Transfer. I guess he was tantalized by KD?

I'm more confident in Justin Begg than others I guess. The game appears to be slowing down for him. He had a horrible start to the year but in the last 4 games is 7-10 from the floor (4-6 from 3), 2-2 from the charity stripe, has 5 assists and 4 turnovers. I can see him continuing to grow and would love to see his minutes increase. Let's see what we've got, he is a freshman after all.

I see a lot of potential in Begg, but he played alongside KD in the second half against MSM and he wasn’t playing point. That might be where he gets his minutes for now as he gets acclimated, but he certainly has A10 level athleticism and could be a good one for us if he sticks around.

PS that late clock circus scoop layup he scored was something KD wishes he could finish all season but has bungled too many times to count.

Best buzzer beating shot and game I ever witnessed at Patriot Center/EBA since it opened! Amazing comeback against a despised rival in front of an energized capacity crowd. Who could ask for more!

Could have kept polite on the roster.
i dont know/remember the exact situation.
Did RP leave on his own or was he asked to leave?
Did he graduate from Mason and leave as a Grad Trad transfer?
