In all honesty, I'd be in favor of being Mike Lonergan's redemption story.

Love this idea. And what better way to redeem yourself than taking a job in the same conference and beating the crap out of the school that wronged you. That said, there's no way Dave is going to be fired after this season, and an exonerated Lonegran is too talented to remain on the open market for long.

I was neutral on Paulsen from day one. I didn't think he'd have us with multiple ncaa bids back to back, but at least a mix of NIT or NCAA bids every 3 to 4 years. Looking at his coaching style and body of work, I don't think he's the guy for consistent success in the A10. So hypothetically for everyone ready to hit the reset button where do we look next?

1. BCS assistant
2. Mid major coach
3. Up and coming low major
4. Retread

My 1st choice (pipe dream) would be to develop some sort of coaching pipline with UVA, Villanova, or UMD starting with one of their assistants. I know this may make us a stepping stone program but thats better than being a bottom feeder. We could also use the recruting boost.

2nd choice Tommy Amaker still a far shot but a respectable body of work.

It's one of thr largest schools in the state, located in a hs hoops hot bed, and most affluent areas in the country.

We need stop viewing our school as a stepping stone or see it as a destination school.

Look for a good coach who sees it as his/her dream school, knows how to recruit dc, and wants to establush long term success here.

GMU has the potential to be a flag ship program in the A10.

Yep, we'll end up being a year too late. He clearly wants to come back and now he should be able to. Knows the area, has connections, won with a circus surrounding him, etc. We should have hired him over Hewitt.

She was succesful at her own ice cream truck. She got a contract to work for Dairy Queen and she killed it there. Now she got a contract with the big boys and using the same ice cream dispensing tactics. But sadly she never evolved her approach and continued trying to dispense ice cream by hand. She knows her approach is not working but she either refuses or can't:

1. Get a new ice cream machine or ...
2. Use the current machine in a much more efficient manner.

Taking the most optimistic or favorable view. In current years the A10 is a mid major at best. realisticly its a low major conference.
