So my question is, do we get to 20 wins in the regular season (10-8 A-10)? It would be quite a feat for this team but I don't see how we go 6-4 down the stretch.

I can see us getting 4 more wins, but having a hard time seeing six (especially with our record a home and play against St. Louis).

"Likely" wins should be @ St. Louis, and then take Fordham, Richmond, and Duquesne at home

Which means we'd have to steal two road games or beat Lasalle and URI at home.

I'm not confident we win at home in any situation let alone against Lasalle and URI. GW is a matchup nightmare for us and I think we'll see much of the same in foggy bottom. So, does this team have the gusto to beat 2 of 3 on the road, Davidson (most plausible), Dayton, vcu (any win where is great for us)?

That said I see us going 4-6 in the last 10 and we finish with 18 wins on the year 8-10 in league play.

Disappointing? not really. This team played way above where I thought we'd be.

A win in the conference tournament would be icing.
Just had a similar thought. I think we could get to 20 wins with the a10 tourney. I wonder if the team will accept a tournament invite.

With the youth on this roster, if the athletic department has a chance to pay for extra games and chooses not to, that is inexcusable.

Getting a little ahead of our skis at this point, though. Still have to figure out how to win at home before we make plans for the CLIT.

I still like our chances of going 9-9.

I don't know, I've seen 15-16 teams in the CLIT before. A little name recognition, a good conference, I don't think it'll be too hard to get an invite from them.

I'd prefer the CBI, though, a slightly better tournament in my opinion.

No offense to the CBI, but I would never turn down an invitation from the CLIT.

Looks like Mason is right on track to be somewhere between the 7-9 seed going into the A10 tournament. They probably need about 6 wins to stay out of the bottom 4, a 7th win gets them out of that play in round.

More games would benefit this group greatly. I hate the pay to play tournaments, but I think this group would benefit from the experience. Next year I would expect Mason to continue to improve in league play with a bigger jump when the first recruiting class under Paulsen are seniors.

Duquesne, Davidson, and Fordham are my remaining 3 hopes to get to 7 wins and stay out of the PIG. Home wins as we have all seen, and so far going winless against Fordham, are the obvious obstacles. Sure as hell wish we had the season sweep against St. Louis. Win at home against Richmond is possible given our recent history against them. Time will tell.

I am predicting a fall off next year given the departure of Marquise and Jalen. My concern, as many have posted here, is who/what kind of post presence we will have. I hope like hell I am wrong. I yearn for the day when we no longer have to rely on incoming freshman to make/break a season. Not there yet.

I think it's possible that we will have a better team from top to bottom next season and finish with a worse record.

Not saying it will happen next year because I have no idea who might make a leap next year, but recall many couldn't see how we were going to replace Shevon? And, in a way, it was done with the a barely 6 foot guard.

So, I am remaining optimistic that Paulsen keeps pulling rabbits out of his hat and we keep making forward progress next year

I suspect that will be the case as well, because I am hopeful that Paulsen begins to test this team more in the OOC starting next year.

Apparently someone does brackettology for the NIT haha. Mason is considered on the bubble.

http://www.nycbuckets.com/current-nit-bracketology/

I'm a nerd and I did a break down of the teams listed.

RPI:
Range: 30(vcu)- 118(Colorado)
Average RPI: 118
Mason: 129

Records:
Range: 19-6 (Charleston)- 12-12 (Penn St.)
Average 14-8
Mason D1 Record- 14-8

The average RPI for the remaining 8 games is 108. Not exactly sure how the RPI system works so I wont even try to speculate where we will end up at the end of the season. But Mason has the opportunity to have 3 top 50 wins in the season. URI, Dayton, vcu.

Obviously its a long shot, but who thought New England was going to make that epic comeback. Go Patriots!
