Based on the article that Washingtonian linked to...if fired before the end of his contract Mason is only on the hook for half of his base salary. His base salary is only 400k with the other 3ook in supplemental pay. So based off those numbers we would only be on the hook for 2ook a year for the length of his contract if/when he is fired. Doesn't seem that bad?

I really don't think firing anyone right now is the answer. Paulsen might not be the savior, but what he's done for this program cannot be understated. At least now we have some stability and decent basketball to watch. I'm very curious to see how this year goes though.

I mean. I actually haven't watched a game this year :( Been slammed at work. Haha so I'm basing every comment off last year.

Ya Paulsen said he was an A=10 caliber player. Also surprising if you look at his high school videos he can move better and dunked a lot...

Reuter needs to run 100 wind sprints every day when there is no game. He's gotta get the butter off those buns. Losing 20 pounds might increase his vertical leap by at least ¾ of an inch.

And for the love of Vishnu, hide the Christmas ham!

DJ3 and the PoorManProfit have always known the dew drinkin' 'lil fella was a bad hire. While most here were pumping "Big Balls Brad" for the underwhelming hire, we were keeping it real despite being ridiculed. You guys should listen to us or at least consider it.

The thing that baffles me the most is the miss on Reuter. How in the world did anyone think he was an all A-10 type of player especially defensively?

Guy who gushed over Reuter is same guy who brought in:

Dixon, Murrell, Abrahms, Temera (all of which play for shitty DI or are in D2 or D3 bball currently)

and couldn't keep:

Gilbert, Jackson, Porter and Lockett etc (all of which play for upper level Div I schools).

Gilbert barely played at Minnesota and transferred out.

Lockett wound up at either FIU or FAU, one of the far from top-level Florida schools

Porter went to ODU before grad transferring to Nevada

And Jackson has had a nice but hardly spectacular career at Providence

I know revisionist history is your specialty, but come on already.

Lockett is now on NC St as a grad transfer and averaged 14 and 6 at FIU... so yea he woulda probably been above avg for us.

Porter has had a stellar career and I think everyone should know we f'd up by Paulsen not trying harder to retain him

Gilbert turned out to be a bust for Minny but will probably avg 10 per game at Rider (our equal)

Jackson would have probably been the best of them all avg 10 at Providence (about 10 tiers better than we are)....

If anything, you and GS should be crying about CJ Jackson, who is now the starting PG at Ohio State. Of course, had he stayed and played under Hewitt he would’ve majored in dribbling the ball off his foot.

Not crying about anything... but to retort a post about how all of DP's transfers (sans Newman) have gone on to suck a whatever low level program they moved to; you can't misinform about the Virus' recruits that have gone on to be somewhat-very successful in better-equal programs..

I personally couldn’t care less what guys do if they decide to transfer. I was merely correcting the suggestion that all of Hewitt’s guys have gone on to play at high-level programs and Dave “couldn’t keep them.” That’s simply not true.

I mean you undersold Jackson at Providence...
basically omitted Porter by not talking about how great of a career he has had
conveniently forgot that Lockett would have most likely been a contributor since he was at an equally shitty school in an on par conference and had a decent stat line and is now a 7th man for NC St who is by all accounts much better than us in every way

You're a fact guy, but sometimes tend to forget them when they don't prove your point is all

They’re all solid players. Could they have helped us if they had been willing to stay and play for a detail-oriented coach instead of a slack-a** who lets you do whatever the F you want to do? Probably.

But none of them have had anything close to a “great career.” That’s just nonsense.

What has he done?
