Not necessarily. Tulane plays in the AAC. The AAC somehow, (via a good commissioner) was able to secure a $1 BILLION dollar television contract for the AAC. Those member schools will split the money evenly. To me, leaving GSU for Tulane was a no brainer.

The AAC has some good programs at the top of their conference and some big markets (NYC, Houston, Cincinnati, New Orleans). They also have football, which helps.

The kid's last name is "King" and the coach, trying to get under his skin, called him "Queen". Is that what went on here? Or, is King gay and the coach was calling him "Queen" because of it?

Over in the CBI last night, Coastal Carolina went to West Virginia and won 109-91. Earlier I said I wouldn't be on first round games in the NIT. I guess 2nd round CBI games fall into that category too. WVU was a 10.5 favorite.

As I understand his turndown of Mason, his wife (an MD) had been recently promoted to an important-sounding position at UCLA Medical School. So unless the basketball offers are in the LA vicinity (or his marriage is on the rocks), he's not likely to move.

Tommy Amaker at Harvard is in a similar position, with his wife a clinical psychologist working at Harvard Medical School.

I didn't understand that Lipscomb timeout at all. It ultimately didn't matter, but why give NC State the opportunity to set up a play when they had no timeouts and had to go the length of the court in under 2 seconds? I guess it gives you a second to remind your players not to foul, but that still seems like a really odd choice given the circumstances.

Ok, I needed to post this somewhere since my family doesn’t care...

In our family bracket I was doing pretty good at the sweet sixteen level as I had only 4 bad picks (MD, Florida, Saint Mary’s and Iowa St.). Going into the elite 8, though, my bracket is a perfect 8 for 8.

Too bad I didn’t play in one those big money brackets. Instead all I win is not having someone else paid with money that was mine to begin with.

Oh well, at least it makes me feel like I know something about basketball for a few minutes.

Thankfully I took your Texas Tech tip and my final four is still in tact. That was the last of my upset picks. I just need Ky and duke. Worried about the duke mich state game, though. Then I have duke beating uva in the final.
