GTown got bounced tonight by Harvard in the NIT... and Alabama got upset on its home floor by Norfolk State (8 seed beating 1 seed)... that's the MEAC beating the SEC

Jay Bilas says this is most fair sporting event (NCAA tourney). Everyone gets 2 fair shots to make it in. Win auto bid. Or get an at large by winning the games on your schedule. I disagree slightly. He leaves out the fact nobody wants to play a Belmont or uncG type team for fear of losing on HOME COURT bc the big boys sure as hell aren't going to give a home and home. Since so many are saying pay the players for reason that they are the product and deserve something. I say make the big boys play those true road games they avoid til conf play. Why keep the magic bottled up til March. If Wofford beat unc on their home court (yes, unc went to wofford...Roy was to scared to come to Fairfax for a rematch for A Marcus Ginyard homecoming) and say I dunno, Gonzaga went and lost to a top mwc team etc etc, wouldn't that boost excitement for the college game? Instead the big boys hide until they cant hide anymore. Who wouldnt appreciate these matchups in nov/dec? If the players wanna get something for their work in creating this product then the product should be made more available and less controlled so big programs aren't protected.

Coach L and others found a formula that kinda worked to build a tourney resume but it didnt last long or something.

UNC has always done the homecoming road game. I benefited as they played at Cornell when King Rice (now Monmouth's head coach) was a senior. Binghamton U was still a DIII school at the time. Not everyone is willing to do that. I know UNC played Penn at the Palestra a few years back. Not sure if that was a homecoming game but I remember Roy saying he wanted his kids to experience the Palestra.

Norfolk St was a 15 point underdog. I wouldnt bet first or 2nd round NIT games. You never know if the Power 5/BCS schools actually want to be there.

Well, you definitely don't want to be the fave side that's for sure! Kinda like shitty bowl games. You have no clue who wants to play and not to play.

After watching these first few games, if you are not a power 5 team and want to win, you better shoot 3's and limit turnovers.
