I seem to remember that Tim Duncan was a swimmer and rather new to basketball when he started school at Wake Forest. Not to set the bar and our expectations too high!!

Well, the one concern I would have is a Portumagese fellow taking a year off on campus. Portumagese are well known for being into wine and women and mid-afternoon naps to a ridiculous degree. If he doesn't work hard he could easily turn into me on campus--drinking at the Ratt 11am--3pm every day, napping 3pm-6pm, then going to Planet Nova or somewhere till God knows when.

That lifestyle should still be sufficient for a 2.5 GPA if Daniel is intelligent, but it could easily turn him into a disgusting fat body.

Now, I maintained that lifestyle and was able to drop 27 on a Sigma Nu B team almost at will, even into my thirties. But can Daniel? And, let's face it, vcu and UMass are slightly better competition than most fraternity league teams.
