Wow, after watching that highlight reel, it's really depressing how many of Shevon's points last year were off his teammates' misses. Kudos to him for taking advantage of our horrible shooting, but it's no wonder he had so many double-doubles. Here's hoping he doesn't have nearly as many offensive rebound opportunities this season.

Even if the team is shooting 60 percent from the field, there will be plenty of opportunities for thunderous dunks while the opposition is hanging off Shevon's arms.

I hope ST gets noticed more for his future potential than grabbing rebounds from teammates who shot bricks every game last year. I think this year he makes strides on both ends of court. I have a good feeling DP will bring that out of a few returning players.

Sure. Along with Marko as well. Not sure we have a true "5" other than Thompson, so if he can't go 40 minutes (and he cant) you'll see Royal, Jenkins and Marko take up the slack.

I, too, thought Jenkins might be tried out closer to the basket and spell Thompson. I mean, Thompson can't play 40 minutes a game.

Thompson is as close as you get to a prototypical 5 these days, but I think most teams are moving away from that designation and playing three guards and two forwards. When Thompson needs a spell, I'm fine going smaller with Royal or Jenkins playing the so-called PF and others fitting in at the SF/wing.

I don't expect to see much of Dixon in his first year at all (Thompson, Jenkins, Marko, Royal makes for a crowded front court). His sophomore season it'll be more interesting to see where Paulsen decides he's most effective.

I dont see Marko playing that close to basket. Jenkins, yes vs some teams, but not Marko. I have not seen him vs an opposing center, ever. At Mason or in intl highlights. But maybe DP sees something.

I imagine if we are forced to use Marko at the 5, it will be a "5-out" offense. The only guys with any real post up game are Thompson and to a much lesser degree, Jenkins. Royal isn't a post up, he's a stretch 4/5 as would Marko be.

Physically Marko is a much better option to bang with opposing 5's than Dixon is at this point. And GMUgemini is correct in thinking we wont see much, if any, of Dixon this year.

Dixon needs to redshirt and get on the Jalen Jenkins weight-gain plan. Jalen put on about 30 pounds during his redshirt season.
