Given he is a new AD and wants his first major hire to really be his own, I don't think Edwards is likely to hire someone with connections to Coach L./O'Connor. Not that the younger L. and Caputo aren't qualified, because they certainly are, but my gut tells me he is more likely than not to go in a different direction.

This time of year it is like that company is being paid by 20 different schools to give them the same list of names.

Schools also get background checks. Plus they can contact a coach's agent or coach and then deny that the school ever contacted them if they get rebuffed.
