From thumbing through a few BoV reports it seems like we're about to shift a solid majority or our research expenditures towards security studies.

Yeah definitely not surprising. Mason definitely has a focus in anything Cyber related- they are trying to be the leader on a lot of the research for it especially around here.

Honestly there is such a need in cyber security that if you can get yourself a degree and prove yourself worthy you probably can end up with a good starter job, and then once you get experience you go from there. I have no clue what cyber programs are teaching now- but I bet a high percentage of learning comes from on the job experience as with any degree. At least in DC it seems like the programs focus on what the area gives in terms of jobs (govt focused security etc)

I'll save you the rant, but I hope the universities stick to the fundamentals and rely on partnerships with security firms and security conferences as opposed to the defense contractors/government.

They are certainly terrible, but they'll catch somebody sleeping once or twice this season.

I just don't want it to be us.

They usually give vcu a run for their money when the game is at St. Louis, but that game isn't happening this season.

Tempted to hit the panic button for our conference. Like Jon Rothstein recently tweeted, "League hasn't moved the needle outside of URI beating Cincinnati." Not that this is our year to compete but it may be prime to at least not finish in the bottom 3 or 4. #Avoidplay-ingames

Not sure if this is the official RPI site but this site has the A-10 7th in RPI- I suspect it'll be a down year for the conference.

The Atlantic 10 has finished 7th the last five out of six years, always somehow just outside the Big 6 conferences. There is a danger this year, though, of slipping below the AAC to 8th if the conference doesn't finish off these last OOC games strong.

We need to sticky this thread so the next time the team has a clunker, the board doesn't do a Chernobyl.

It's a long season and I'm fairly confident we're not winning the rest of our games. We need to stick together and trust that our coaches know what they're doing.
