I think I graduated with an overall gpa around 1.9 and never was academically inelligible.

I believe I ended up with somewhere in the low 130's as far as credits go since not all of the credits could be used toward my diploma, but it can be done... it just takes a lot of hard work. ;)

I was a late bloomer. Didn't know/care what I wanted to do with myself and really had no business being in school back then. It wasn't until later when I figured things out, went back to school, and had over a 3.6 in grad school and figured things out.

very true... I guess my point is more that the dude was academically inelligible 3 times and still graduated.. not hating on a 1.9 GPA, because Holloway's had to have been lower.

Obviously it doesn't bother me or I wouldn't have posted it... so no worries.

I just looked up my unofficial transcripts. Overall was a 1.98. Had one semester where I got a 0.68 which really hurt the ole' GPA! Also had a semester with a 1.4. Yikes. Shocked to see I had a 3.2 one semester (3 SOCI classes) - must have really applied myself that year!

A lot of freshmen go through this. Every semester I have freshmen who start off strong, but about week 3 are MIA. After two weeks, I usually email them to drop the class to save their GPA, some do, some don’t. Those who don’t I’ll remind them again at the withdrawal deadline, hey, last chance! Some do, some don’t. Those who don’t will show up around week 12-13 asking what they can do to bring their grade up to at least a B.

I remember that drop deadline. It was two weeks after the class started. Meanwhile, at other schools, you could drop before the final....cough cough U.va.

We have several:

1) within the second week of class : no tuition owed
2) before week 8: drop with tuition owed, but no transcript consequence
3) by week 12: withdrawal and get a W in your transcript
4) by week 14: but have to withdrawal from all your classes.

Richmond is turning into a hot mess.
At this point, if they have any inkling that they want to get rid of Mooney anytime soon, you would think now would be the time. You already have the damage of the transfers that happen when you change coaches. If they hold onto home for on onto a few more years, you drag the carnage out that much longer and delay the rebuild. Let it go to far and it might be worse than what our former coach (AD, president) left is with.

Then you risk a JMU/Brady situation where a horrible coach lucks into a good year and you can’t fire him. That was always my fear with our former coach that he would somehow put up a year just good enough in his fourth year to make it hard to not renew him.

God that is a frightening story. I got chills reading it. This is the story People will be telling their children around campfires and at Halloween.

It might have happened if we stayed in the CAA. His recruiting alone might have been enough to keep him near the top of that league (think about it. We were one collapsed half away from probably winning the CAA that year).

Marcus Evans from vcu was a transfer they have from Rice. He was going to be their PG this season but he just reinjured his achilles and word is they are desperately trying to find another PG. Not sure how they will do that bc they have no available scholarships. They will probably roll in the season with a freshman PG.

vcu has the potential to be pretty bad. Not saying it’ll happen, but their floor is pretty low. Especially now.

My guess is they'll go positionless, maybe, play super high pressure and stay out of the halfcourt offense as much as possible? Something like: Simms, Vann, Jenkins, Douglas, Mobley? They'll still be long and athletic. It might work against less disciplined or smaller teams.

I mean sure, they have enough talent to get by the bottom few teams even if they play poorly. But there won’t be any more games where they sneak out wins when they play poorly against the top ten teams.

Would love to see the Fordham-vcu mess of a game next season if Neubauer survives that long.

They got the best talent in the a10 next year. But lets see if Ford can put it to work.
star PG Goodwin still has unclear future after he was suspended for some games for that gang bang sexual assault case... they kicked 2 out of program but kept their star freshman lol
