(Official) Mrs. Russell Turner Thread

Russell Turner looks like a good candidate. I like that he's a former NBA asst. But, I would like to see Juan Dixon get a look. He's been an assistant at Maryland and was a key to the turnaround this year. Schools and ADs are realizing the NBA guys know a lot more than the college guys (Hoiberg, Ollie, Manning, Mark Price, Mullin, etc..). Plus, Juan Dixon is from Baltimore and played at UMD. Great recruiting credibility.
No.

So now that we know who the new coach will be, who do we think stays and who do we think is outta here? I hope Turner can retain all 4 freshmen and both recruits....this would be a major win from my perspective.

You have to think that as all the team members reflect on how utterly craptastic the previous coach was. They recognize the talent on the team and the immediate potential the new coach can bring. In that light few will want to leave.

Broads, Buicks, and Buckley

From his coaching background (guys he's been with) and how Sydney used to play I'm guessing he might prefer up-tempo.

But, as you might when you have a guy 7'6", you play to your strengths. As mentioned above from looking at his teams, it would seem he has the ability to adapt and change philosophies when it warrants.

Just educated guessing on my part. I know nothing, I see nothing, I have no sources.

Watching the Louisville game now, they look like exclusively a 2-3 zone team defensively (but, as Jollay says, 7'6)

My sources tell me that Turner will play with 5 guys on the court at the same time using a combination of passing the ball to each other and shooting it at the basket to attempt to score more points than the other team.

I want my credit when this is right. I win the prize.

I don't get it….

Is that like the offense we've seen for the past 4 years, the Hewitt special? See diagram below

My sourzes now telling me that Turner likes to employ players that are taller than the average American male - nearly all his recruited players are over 6 feet.

Has Turner seen the leaked pics of Jennifer Lawrence? What does he think? You know BBB asked this as question #1.

I really hope the sources did their due diligence……..

Can we clarify how many prizes there are? This is getting really confusing.

His coaching staff also has some local/East Coast ties - Assoc. Head Coach came from Radford and played at Davidson and another Asst. Coach also played at Davidson. It'll be interesting to see who he brings over.

Either way, I def. want him to retain his Dir. of Basketball Administration. Think of it as a consolation prize for those who wanted Levell "Motown" Moton as our coach.

This is Michael Wilder, a 3 year starter at the four, at 6'3". Unpretentious style of play, tough. From Long Beach Wilson. Had he been 6'6", he'd be in the league. Terrific young man with s bright future.
