I get NIL is the now and future and we have to adapt and not arguing it shouldn't happen. Its just a rapid earthquake to the paradigm that is so mind boggling. When I was in campus I was told by the players down the hall I couldn't spring for pizza for them. Now....we will have Mason NIL offering condos at National Harbor and chauffered Teslas to campus.

Fair enough. Even though I’m all for it, it is quite an adjustment even for me.

While not opposed to kids making money on themselves, this just leans me to--it's free agency like a professional. Which means they should lose all preferences and services--scholarships, academic advising, etc and just be hired guns.

We have thrown "student athlete" out the door.

It's also now why besides the money, good coaches will run as fast they can to the next job up so that they can compete on a level playing field vs just grind it out at low and mid.majors.

I mean college sports are about to all change again if/when the acc falls apart.. It will be the sec and big 10 leaving the NCAA and then doing whatever they want. March will be the 'backetball tournament brought to you by the sec and big10.' Maybe the big 12 can partner with them but that's it. Everyone else is going to get left out. This isn't a now thing, it's been going on for years. Thus why all the acc schools scrambling to try and keep up.

Different issue at uva. It's not money, it's 'Elitism' and not wanting to take morons into their grad programs or into the school in general. Different issues that they have always dealt with there.

I have done 1 or 2 EBA concourse popcorn reviews and I believe it got a C or C- even with some home court advantage given to it. I don't do it frequently so I don't have to compromise my principles or talk bad about my home arena

Personally...if they are going to get paid, etc because their "endorsing the school"or whoever else---then they promote the name of the school on the jersey----sacred ground----not themselves.
