In this day and age, if you change the oil and do regular maintenance, so long as you aren't driving like the Dukes of Hazzard there no reason you shouldn't get to 200,000+ miles.

I would argue 250,000. The only thing that does need to be changed at that mileage are struts/shocks and maybe transfer cases. But if you keep up fluid changes, alignments, and the like -cars could make it to 250K to 300K miles.

People don't understand taking the car to the mechanic for a couple hundred bucks every few months is still far less expensive than a car payment.

Keeping talking Vurbel your are scratching my capitalistic happy button.

Would love to know some details. Am I safe to assume that we will have a whole new structure and it's not something that will just be added on to the current scoreboard? The only way it could be added on to the current one is if you took out the whole middle portion, then the new board would have to show score/time as well... which defeats the purpose somewhat.

I guess this answers my question... can't believe someone stole this for $100.

I didn't understand that either - the old press release did mention that the boards could be separated and reused in another application. I'm not sure if the new practice facility had scoreboards in it already or not, but it's hard to believe that we couldn't have used these somewhere in some other application.

i saw they only sold the scoreboard for 100, but the highest bidder was responsible for the removal and transportation of the scoreboard. I'm sure that is a heafty cost, so maybe it wasn't worth the headache of repurposing it

The new scoreboard better be ready for the first game or it'll be a weird atmosphere.......

I'm thinking some people are going to be disappointed when they see the actual size of the video screens.

The 4 larger corner screen at the concourse entrances are about 5 feet tall by 14 feet wide. The new scoreboard screens are going to be about 8 1/2 feet tall by 14 1/2 feet wide - a few inches wider and a little over three feet taller. Doesn't seem like very much. I'm sure they were limited due to the weight - my guess is they got the biggest they could do and still be under the weight limit.

Insert "size doesn't matter" joke here.

Using this picture from the Mason Athletics FB page for comparison, the new panels might not be too bad if there's a good amount of framing. Can't wait to see it, though...
