I wonder how much longer they will be hypnotized? Ya know. The U assistants. And when is it coming out in the media that our entire FF team was hypnotized into playing better during the dance.

L could hypnotize Raul Heinen the easiest.

Well, that argument is retarded, because he took over an ACC program, and we just came from the CAA.

Both Larranaga's predecessors made the NCAA at the same clip L does.

And they were fired.

Look at your God now.

Except that his predecessor wasn't fired, but took a better gig. Or that making a conference change makes a difference....ala Davidson......

Yeah but L can hypnotize everyone into thinking they just went final four.

While happy to see him continue to be mediocre, I was secretly hoping to see them be a 10 seed against vcu.

Gotta wonder if they make it going forward. I think in the best years the ACC gets 8 teams in. Duke/UNC/Virginia/Notre Dame/Louisville/Syracuse/Pitt are damn near guarantees every year at this point with NC State always right on the edge. A good, senior laden U team can probably get ahead of some of those teams, but I don't think on any sort of a consistent basis.

I guess one reason Caputo doesn't get more looks is that he's a lead assistant on a very average team.

L has had to recruit w/potential NCAA sanctions and the possibility of no post-season over his head up until this season thanks to the previous administration. Let's see what he does w/that gone.

L sure has had K's number recently.

I'm guessing that Caputo is still Larranaga's #3 assistant. Konkol & Huger are Larranaga's offensive & defensive coordinators, respectively.

Well, a flashback for you...2004

"Perry Clark was fired as basketball coach at Miami on Friday after back-to-back losing seasons and just one NCAA Tournament berth in four years."

One in four I guess is acceptable now at Miami, which incidentally was a football school back then too, Gemini.

http://sports.espn.go.com/espn/wire?id=1769054

It's also because Perry Clark was Miami's Hewitt. Hamilton had the program kicking a**..4 straight post season, including 3 NCAA in a row. Clark takes over had 2 decent seasons (year #1 NIT with 16 wins and NCAA with 21 wins year #2) and then the bottom fell out for the last 2 winning 11 and 14 games.

And of course Paul Hewitt led Georgia Tech to five NCAA appearances in 11 years, a .450 NCAA clip.

And he was fired.

Poor L is one for four. (.250)

But we all know why that record is acceptable over Leonard Hamilton, Haith, Perry Clark and Paul Hewitt, don't we?

Cough. Cough. White Man. Cough. Cough.
This one is funny...Like there is no built in difference between recruiting for basketball at GT and Miami. Are you serious?

I apologize to the haters, but I still love the dude and wish him success. These videos you've posted are exactly why. Basketball is a psychological game (like most things). He may not have the players and he may not be the best coach, but there's a reason his guys can go out and win at Duke, at Pitt, at Syracuse, etc. I know they also lose some head-scratchers, but there's something to be said for a guy that revived two terrible basketball programs and made them almost immediate successes.

I know most of the hating is tongue-in-cheek. But, I find myself smiling ear to ear while this crotchety old man babbles about the team shrink, loses his train of thought, etc. and I find myself watching the NIT for the first time since Mason was last in it.

Edit: I wish Grant was still coaching in this game. We'd be some of the few people in the country that would see the connection

Miami plays winner of ASU/Richmond game tonight on Tuesday, they play at Richmond if the ticks win, so I'll probably be going down to root for the Canes.

Miami next year will likely be a top 20/15 team, they return everyone.
