GS can't even post in a soccer thread without referring to Hewitt? Jesus Christ.

This team is really exciting to follow this year, one of only two remaining undefeated (no ties) teams in the nation, with a lot of tough matchups left this year. I'm going to have to make it to the UVA game - would that be the biggest win in school history?

No. In 2009 they beat then #3 and defending national champion UMD in College Park 2-0. I believe Maryland was at least a national semifinalist that year as well.

That match was actually at home. My freshman year. One of only a few matches I went to during my four years. Atmosphere was incredible!

There's exactly 1 senior on this team as well. Granted, he's scored 6 goals already. But still, this team is built for the future.

I was at that game too, I new MD was the defending champs but didn't remember if they were ranked that year when we played them.

I think 3-0 win over #1 Uva in FFX has to rank as best win for program. Gordan Bradley actually stayed awake for the entire game. Lima scored all 3 of our goals.

Navy up next. They tied Maryland earlier, but like UMBC have been on a slide of late.

Anyone make it to game or see it on TV? Hopefully they had a loud, charged, crowd behind them.

I was there. Despite the score, it was actually a close match. UMBC moved the ball well. They just couldn't find the net. Krauss had some great saves. I'm almost positive UMBC was ranked top 15 earlier on this season before they started losing. The crowd was good. More than I thought would show up for a soccer game. Crowd was similar to size as the wisconsin game.

They were ranked as high as 11 I think. But yeah they have fallen off a bit of late. I'm not sure if that's due to injuries or what.
