Men’s Basketball Foreign Tour Through Spain Set for August

Just watched the highlights from yesterday’s game on twitter. Couple things I noticed from the new guys was Douglas-Stanley has a really nice looking shot and Reuter is really going to help us with the in and out game. He looks like he’s a really good passer and can help with keeping the opponents post players honest and popping the ball out to our guards for hopefully easier shots.

These insights are based on all 2 minutes of highlights I watched.

I hope in a real game they actually do that. I know Paulsen has a philosophy and I think its under like 4 seconds or something of that nature.

I'm on the boat of fouling also, said that to stir up some conversation. 9/10 times we'd win that game in that situation. If it wasn't 106 degrees in that gym we would have won easily.

Maybe we wait until next year when he and Boyd are seniors - "Fear the Beards"

Watching the highlights of the last two games makes it damn hard not to be more than optimistic about Reuter’s influence on the court. Rebounds well. Creates space. Forces double and triple teams. Scores inside and out. Has PG court vision and makes the right pass.

Dr Gunnie comes through again.
My first thought- if it was 108 degrees in the gym, why is Otis wearing sleeves?
Right after La Roda hits the long 3 to pull w/in one at the end of the game, we call a TO and it goes to commercial. One of the game clips used for the hotel commercial shows a player dribbling a ball down the court in a game and then drop-kicks the ball into the stands a la Pete Bell in Blue Chips. WTF and why would the hotel use that clip in the commercial?

I was wondering the same thing. I kept thinking he might change at some point, but he leaves it on the whole game.

I was going back and forth with the other team’s Facebook page and they sent me the link this morning. Thank goodness for google translate! I’ve only watched the 1st quarter so far, but my thoughts:

Hartwell is better than I thought, but he is tiny. Must be why he didn’t get other offers - it can’t be because of skill.

Reuter is an excellent passer - better than I thought. He did seem to struggle a little with the conditions/conditioning which isn’t surprising with the heat. I don’t think it’ll be a concern.

Very happy nobody got hurt. Saw a bunch of our guys slip and that was just in the 1st quarter.

I also think we should replace our usual horn sound with the international horn like in this game... could be our little thing.

Kier's catch and shoot on his 3-pt shot is markedly quicker (for him) in the video highlights.

I watched the rest of the game this morning. Shots didn’t seem to fall, glad no one got hurt because the slipping on the floor continued throughout. Reuter didn’t seem as gassed as I first thought throughout the rest of the game - false alarm. We did some good things, some not so good.

Fun to watch it until the very end where we give them a big pile of Mason Adidas gear and they start going through it/trying it on.
