Marquise needs just 18 more points and 6 rebounds to become the only Mason player in school history with 1,000 points, 500 rebounds, 300 assists, & 60 blocked shots (currently has 65).

That is incredible especially since he got most of those stats in basically only 1.5 years. This is a stat line that will never be surpassed once it's all set and done for Moore.

In the 75-67 victory at Saint Joseph's tonight, Marquise had a game-high 24 points (8-14 FG's & 8-9 FT's), a game-high 10 rebounds, a game-high 7 assists, a career-high and game-high 4 steals, & 3 turnovers.

(1) Marquise is the only Mason player in school history with a 1,000 points, 500 rebounds, 300 assists, and 60 blocked shots;

(2) Has 1,006 career points, tying Brian Miller for 32nd in scoring at Mason;

(3) Has 504 career rebounds, passing Jon Larranaga for 20th place at Mason; and

(4) Has 308 career assists, tying Tremaine Price for 10th place at Mason.

1. Curtis McCants - 598
2. Myron Contee - 411
3. Ricky Wilson - 405
4. Folarin Campbell - 392
5. Bryon Allen - 380
6. Cam Long - 356
7. John Niehoff - 331
8. Steve Smith - 329
9. Mike Hargett - 312
10. Marquise Moore - 308
Tremaine Price - 308

IMO, his performance tonight puts an exclamation point on what his career stats reflect: Marquise is one of the best all-around basketball players in Mason history.

With our next game at home, it's a great opportunity for him to have another stellar game. Would love to see him awarded with A10 player of the week again. His stats last night are hard for anyone to match, and he doesn't force much. Most of his buckets look easy

Interestingly, Marquise nearly reached all 3 of these milestones in the same game:

Me to a buddy in early 2013: Marquise is going to be one of my favorites and best all-round players by the time he leaves here, if he can learn to nail a deep jumper on the break. Glad I was wrong.

Stat of the day courtesy of CBB reference:

Thorough 17 games he is #1 on the list of Guards (no G/F) in Def. Rebs per game for a single season dating back to 09-10 (EDIT - D-Reb's were not tracked prior to 09/10). Only one other guard was 6'2 or under in the top 10.

Dating back to 1993 he is #4 in Total Rebs per game.

Imagine if Boyd started doing the Quise. Already has the body and the three-point shot to boot.

Although I'm very pleased with Marquise's success this year, I am STILL not a fan of his game, and I stand by that post. I do congratulate him on matching Cam Long's accomplishments. I can tip my hat to that!
He can't shoot so is that aspect of the game more valuable than the things he is amazing at? If so I don't respect your basketball opinion. If you are still not a fan of his game after the past 12 months or so you are really just a certified hater.

not a certified hater, I root for him and the rest of the team every single game. I just cringe every time I watch him shoot. I love his hustle and determination to make plays. Its just one man's opinion, just my evaluation of the player himself...I just wish he played with more emotion and shot the ball smoother. He very well could win the A10 POY award this year without making another 3-pointer this year. I just find that odd that a guard can win that award without consistently making 3-pointers.

I see many people hating on Jalen Jenkins' efforts this year in posts on the boards with some ticky tack fouls, I see it nothing short of phenomenal to see a 6'7" kid who came to Mason as a tooth pick control the paint in a 4-guard lineup like he has. I was honestly scared to see how we would do in the post this year. He has wiped away any concerns.

Marquise is playing amazing basketball this year that's the bottom line. A smoother shot, make's sense, but wishing that he played with more emotion is ridiculous. You can't perform the way he has and not be feeling something. It might not look like it to p8, but that's his opinion, remember he's not a fan.

I like that he doesn't show to much emotion, many of the best don't. Thy just go about their business. I love when guys in the NFL score a touchdown and instead of dancing, just hand the ball to the ref. And MM def shows some emotion, he's just not doing a will Thomas scream or anything

Wishing Marquise Moore had better mechanics on his jumper is pretty universal.

How he shows emotion on the court is a value judgment, and one I don't agree with.

Our concerns about Jalen have more to do with who comes in when he is saddled with foul trouble than it does about Jalen picking up one or two cheapies a game.
