Wouldn’t exactly call it a pickup game, but yeah it’s mostly meaningless. Was just interesting to see AJ playing power forward (which is a hope I and others on this board hope he finally gets the chance to do — so don’t take the hope away!)
This was not treated as a pickup game, this was a live scrimmage with refs, free throws, timeouts, etc.The veteran players got to play more against the alumni would make more sense. But AJ dunked again at Kenner so he's a starter now, this is the year you guys!

I don't have an answer for that... however this is the first year that we've had a TBT team, so hopefully this becomes a yearly happening. If this is allowed by NCAA rules why don't they do it every summer?
We fully agree about something. Keep him at the 4 and give him 20 minsWouldn’t exactly call it a pickup game, but yeah it’s mostly meaningless. Staring lineup for a pickup game for fun is not a thing...
Looks like By George with the skinny on the scrimmage. Interesting tidbit, AJ started at the 4 alongside Calixte. Hartwell at point guard with Kier and Greene on the wings. Miller started on the bench.
This is the best post in MONTHSScrimmage Quick Takes
Starters: Hartwell, Greene Kier, AJ, Calixte (LOVE IT)
We don't know why XJ, Mar and Boyd did not participate.
There was a decent stretch when Miller, AJ and Calixte played together (#SIZE)
Greene led in scoring
Hartwell played a really nice game scoring-wise. Looked comfortable and shot well.
Paulsen took the game VERY seriously and coached as if it were a real game.
Miller and Pearson had some pretty good battles on both ends of the court. With each getting the better of the other at times.
Calixte had some really nice moments under the basket, held up well versus more experienced competition
What did you think of Hartwell playing the point? you said he had "a really nice game scoring-wise". Did he facilitate pretty well against some bigger guards. I am really looking forward to his sophomore season.Scrimmage Quick Takes

With the Miller, AJ and Calixte lineup (might be my dream lineup w/ Hartwell and Kier #SIZE) how was the floor spacing? Did AJ look a bit more under control?
Any words on Daddy or Oduro? How did they look?
Thanks again for another quality post.
How did oduro look? Did he look like a potential contributor?Hartwell handled the ball really well, maybe just one turnover all game. He held his own against BA who guarded him most of the game.
Kier was actually the main facilitator
Miller stepped out to the perimeter and hit a three (only shot once from deep) from the corner.
AJ took 2-3 mid-range jumpers, didn't make the shots but he played under control and in rhythm. He did lead the team in rebounding and provided a ton of energy. AJ played the 4 for the majority of the game.
Oduro played around 7 minutes, had a few steals, couple rebounds and a layup off of a really impressive feed from Kier.
Great observation. Why would you ever take seriously an opportunity to play against experienced pros?
