Langevine is just an awful matchup for us. Legit 6'10", freak athlete. AJ and Reuter will both get destroyed, and Calixte will have a tough time as well. Expect to see a lot of doubling the ball out of the post.

I think Dowtin defends Kier which also makes this matchup tough. Dowtin is an all-A10 caliber defender who can slow him down. Otis gets a mismatch on Fatts, but he hasn't been himself recently. Think we need a big game from him to win this one.

Do you think they’ll put Dowtin on Kier? The play has always been put your best wing defender on Otis and force everyone else to beat you. If Otis goes off he generally gets everyone else involved. If Kier goes off and Otis struggles the same doesn’t necessarily happen.

Paulsen mentioned something in the post game presser. Something along the lines of “ I don’t know how much I’m allowed to say . . , but he’s out with a foot injury”. Read into what you will, but I think that’s all you’re going to get.

If you cant read between the lines, then compare the two releases. Not sure if there was one on Grayer, but to me it seems like Mar got injured, with heartfelt response from coaching staff. Grayer got hurt and we hear nothing. If Grayer's season ended bc of injury then I would expect a statement similar to Mar's. Unless there is beef.

I hope, if there is beef or other issues they can squash them Grayer come play again next year.

I don’t know if part of this is the reason, but Mar’s injury just happened and Grayer’s is a lingering issue from last season. Maybe too much released information will screw up any potential medical redshirt application? Maybe they don’t know yet if he is going to miss the rest of the season? I don’t know.

I agree. I think nothing has really been decided with Grayer other than he’s hurt and they’ll submit him for a redshirt. I think if he left the team officially they would release it. It’s a good sign he’s still on the bench, and there’s always a chance he wants to play next year at mason.

Redshirt info can’t be confirmed until after the season. In addition, there may be a chance he chooses to play at some point.

It’s definitely different than Mar who most likely is out for the year and isn’t at the mercy of the NCAA to decide on a redshirt.

I think it's telling how Mar is traveling with the team and being praised on social media by the staff on his hard work even with the boot on his foot.

Grayer doesn't even come to some of our games.

As the resident expert on overreacting, I feel compelled to say let's slow down on our speculation (including me). You never know what is behind the scenes with a player's situation. And DP keeps everything close to his vest making it even more important not to read too much into the tea leaves.

This. When discussing medical issues of other individuals there are legal limits in place on what can be said and it's very common for some injuries to be discussed more or less openly than others. Lots of factors.

Grayer's situation is certainly out of the ordinary, but not completely unheard of in college sports. Could be as simple as Grayer doesn't want the specifics of his injury being discussed in public.
