He's averaging 7 and a half points and close to 5 boards a game as a sophomore 6th man.
That's not bad, to be honest.
He just recently became the 6th man. As other posters said, he is playing through an injury.Last season we saw how exposive he was.

Why does it matter either way?
Not really. I doubt Paulsen is going to switch back to his original starting lineup at this point in the season. Calixte has started the last five games and has played increasing minutes each contest (last three games 29, 31, and 29 minutes respectively).
He’s started more games than not. I’m not saying he’s not the 6th man going forward, but in the context of his stats it makes them a bit more flattering than they really are.
He's averaged about the same number of minutes per game over the last 8, though, which is about half the games played so far.

Stop blaming these boys for our losses. These losses are on Paulsen shoulders. Paulsen refuses to adapt his system to the talent he has on the team. Paulsen will never be good enough to win any championship until he learns how to adapt to the talent he has on the team. Everyone has seen what could be if Paulsen would let Boyd play his game, but Paulsen doesn't give the kid a chance to show what he can do. 3 minutes here and 3 minutes there in not going to work. As soon as the kid gets a rhythm, Paulsen pulls him to put his favorite players in the game. Paulsen isn't teaching the kids to play as a team. They all play as individuals, which will equate to losses.

we absolutely needed someone of Boyd's character on this team. I truly think it would have been a dumpster fire without his leadership and happiness these last 4 years. I may be lower on his actual basketball ability to change this team than most I am as high as possible on his character. I wish him the best and know he has a bright future outside of basketball

His HS highlights are really impressive. I want him back next year. I think his wrist injury really limited his potential

Has he/did he ever dunk for Mason? I had the highest of hopes for him. Never materialized. I wish him the best of luck in whatever he decides to do.
